Hi ladies! Sorry I have been MIA. I have had my hands full....
On October 30th (37wks 6ds) I went to my OB apt for an U/S and OB visit. The U/S showed that Emerson had dropped below the 10th percentile for growth. They were measuring, Emerson 4.15 and Avery 5.15, but emmy’s growth had dipped, so to my shock (cause I had plans for the week!) My dr said go home get packed and head to the hospital we are going to induce you. My first thought was “Oh man, I have $13 dollars worth of crab meat in the fridge for my crab, and corn chowder!” (in my defense it is a REALLY GOOD chowder!) Well, I went home waited for Julie to get home we packed and got to the Hospital around 6pm. My cervix at the time was very thin but not dilated at all. They started the pitosin around 7…well, as soon as they started it I started have LABOR contractions. Pain like I have never had. They gave me statal so I slept through about an hour of really bad contractions. They checked my cervix sometime in the early morning like 8am, well was only at 2.5cm. They offered me my Epi and I decided to go ahead and take it fearing that it would stall my labor but I needed relief…well, relief did not come about 20 mins later they checked me and I was at 9 cm. Now mind you Julie and her mom had went to get something to eat and drink, thinking that my epi would work and I would get some much needed sleep…I was FREAKING OUT!!!! Thank god I had my doula there. I kept yelling “Were is JULIE!!!!” I wanted Karina (doula) to go find her, but she did not want to for fear that I would then be alone. They checked me again and I was at 10…Suddenly Julie walks in and is stunned to have scrubs thrown at her. The were kind of stalling to get me to the OR for my delivery cause my dr was not due in till 9:30. All the while in between contractions I was now yelling “Why the F is my epidural not working??!!???” Well, it never did work and I had my twins naturally. Emerson was born at 9:18 she WAS 4.15#s 17.5in
Avery was born at 9:24 she WAS 5.15#s 18.5in
They are PERFECT healthy and came home last Friday with their mommies.
