Re: Summer Chit chat II
Jess, I think a movie would be a good distraction, especially if you go to the theater. You can always invite someone to go with you or go it alone. Sounds like you are pretty booked, though! That's great!
Carrie, I think you need to book your schedule too!
Cheyenne, I can't wait to hear how your ultrasound goes. I have to wait a while for mine. It's killing me not knowing what's going on. I almost bought more pregnancy tests over the weekend just to make sure I'm still pregnant. You are so lucky to be going away on vacation. I think DP and I need to make some plans to go to a lesbian B&B soon now that we have a confirmed pregnancy.
Suellen, I think meditation/acupuncture is a good idea. Anything that can help relax you and keep you from obsessing too much is a good idea. It's hard not to feel that overwhelming sense of excitement when you could be pregnant any day now. I know that's how I felt a year ago when we started.
Carolyn, How are you feeling? I think pregnancy fatigue has officialy set in. I have felt incredibly tired the past couple of days and can't even seem to get myself to walk at more than a snail's pace, let alone do anything more than sit on the couch. It's very frustrating!

Re: Summer Chit chat II
Uggh- I just typed out a whole long post, and I lost connection with the server! How frustrating.
Anyway- I had the u/s today. My lining was at 16 (had to be at least 8). I asked my RE if my lining could be too thick and he said no. He has good success rates so I trust him, but I do remember Melissa on the IVF board being concerned that her's was too thick. I talked with my acupuncturist about it after the appointment, and she agreed that 16 was great and that the embryos would have a good place to snuggle in!
Jess- I'm so taking your idea and making my own schedule! DP has already been planning highly nutritional meals for this week and next!
Here's my schedule so far:
Thursday/Friday- Bedrest. I'm actually looking forward to the time in bed!
Saturday- Walt's party
Sunday- Father's Day- something with my dad and Suz's dad
Monday- Visit to IF friend's house who just adopted a newborn son
Wednesday- Muny tickets (outdoor play)
Cheyenne- Good luck with the u/s! I can't wait to hear!
Swell- Your post was definitely not TOO long. Take it from the queen of LONG posts. This is definitely an exciting time for you guys!
A- Talk about your bb's all you want. DP commented in the RE's office that mine are getting bigger. She was thrilled!

Re: Summer Chit chat II
Jen, So what you're saying is that I won't feel more calm after I've SEEN the heart? Uh oh. It does seem like there is always something to worry about. Right now I'm pretty worried about miscarriage. It's so early and everything is so fragile still.
Carrie, That's hilarious about your dp! I'm a little freaked out about how big my bb's might get. They are ample enough as it is! It's good you have a lot of stuff planned. I swear, going to my conference was the best thing I ever did. There was no way to obsess while I was there--I was way too busy.

Re: Summer Chit chat II
Aside from all the real things there are to worry about (ya know, GETTING pregnant, maintaining a healthy pregnancy etc) - I am most worried about gigantic bb's! I'm glad someone else is freaked out by it too. I seriously don't want to think about them getting any bigger!!!!!!!!!

Just uploaded pics from our trip...
Thought I'd share a couple! The kids are my third cousins that happened to be there when we were.

Re: Summer Chit chat II
Hi everyone -
It's so funny that you all are talking about bbs. Last night Carolyn said "Hey, look at this! I have cleavage!" She seems to be doing well - just eating every few hours & going to bed earlier & earlier. No morning sickness or anything!
As for me, I go back & forth between feeling incredibly grateful that we are pregnant & that Carolyn would carry a baby when she had no desire to - to feeling really sad that I am not pregnant. It's hard to have both feelings at the same time. Grrr!
Care - cute pics! It looks like you had fun.
Suellen - I listened to relaxation cds at night to fall asleep. Actually someone from the IVF board mailed me a copy of a TTC relaxation cd. I'd be happy to send you a copy, or anyone else who's interested.

Re: Summer Chit chat II
Laura-Your post made me so sad. I know you must be heartbroken to not be the pregnant one. I am sorry. All I know is in about 9 months it wont matter WHERE that baby came from you will forget all about the heartbreak of IF.
S- THANKS!!! How are you doing?
Care- Looks like you and Suz had a great time!!!! I wish I could have seen you two this time! Glad you had fun!
Now onto the topic at hand...BBs So I always had b cups and wished for As...Well I am at C verging on D and ALREADY have streach marks. This happened about a month into it. They just grew so fast my skin couldnt keep up. SO ladies get to moisterizing!!!!! It wont prevent them, but it may help reduce them.

Re: Summer Chit chat II
Shannon, Glad to see you here again. I see from your signature that you have an appt with an infertility specialist. I'm sorry that you have not had a BFP and I hope the RE gets you pregnant quickly.
Carrie, Looks like you guys had a lot of fun!
Laura, I think it's completely understandable that you have mixed feelings about Carolyn being pregnant and not you. I think it would be really hard to give up the dream of being pregnant. I think you have to mourn that loss. Hopefully you can enjoy most of the benefits of Carolyn being pregnant without any of the bad side effects.

S - it's good to see you! Please come around more often...I'm outnumbered.
Have you decided what the next step is for you?
Did anyone see the sextuplets on the Today show? It's a miracle they're all healthy. Can you imagine? They delivered her at 30 weeks and mom hasn't even seen her babies in the NICU yet because of her recovery.

Re: Summer Chit chat II
I didn't see the segment, but I had seen her on before. Unfortunately, because of this lots of people (like the general public) think that anyone who does IF treatment gets pregnant with 6 babies and then has strong opinions about IF treatments. And truthfully, any reputable fertility doctor would not allow this to happen. Anyway, off my soapbox. I am glad to hear that they are all healthy!
Shannon- Glad you have an appointment with an RE soon. I think this is a wise decision.
Jess- It sounds like you are really kind of down. Just so you know- we all know how you feel- even the girls who are pregnant right now. We've all been there. I know this whole ttc thing is so frustrating!
Oh know! I hate lotion and moisturizing! I guess that Suz will just be forced into doing this for me. I'm sure she'll have a difficult time doing this...

Re: Summer Chit chat II
Carrie, You make a great point about how the general public thinks if you undergo fertility treatments you will end up with 6 kids. I agree, no reputable doc would let this happen. I got an academic book at my conference on families and there's a chapter addressing IF treatments. The author starts with a case of a woman who got pregnant with 12. I was so angry at the author's treatment of IF b/c he clearly had NO CLUE.
Jess, sorry you are so outnumbered right now. It will be your turn soon. We really do understand where you're coming from. I remember feeling so jealous of women who got pregnant when I did not.
I let DP do the moisturizing. She was so happy!

Re: Summer Chit chat II
Hey Carrie -
thanks for the concern. I'm really up and down. I've been feeling really positive for this cycle, but now at 3DPO I don't have nearly the sore bbs that I had last cy on clomid. I'm worried that I'm setting myself up for a huge letdown in a couple of weeks...but I can't stop thinking about it. My progesterone blood test will be here before I know it (Friday), and I'll know more then.
We went to dinner Sun nite with some friends and their 2 month old and DP's parents. DP's step-mom can be kinda tactless. Although we haven't been talking about this journey openly with DP's folks, they know we're TTC. Stepmom spent the entire dinner asking friends how it feels to be a mom and a dad, asking for stories about their little girl, talking about her own grandson and how wonderful he is. The friends know we're a little tender and tried to change the subject - and stepmom kept bringing it right back.
At one point we were talking about chickens - and how my friend just recently learned that hens lay eggs even when they haven't been "fertilized" by a rooster. It wasn't new news to me...but stepmom started to go on and say "well it makes sense if you think about it. We (gesturing to Kelly and me and herself) shed eggs all the time and none of them have been fertilized.
Yeah. Thanks for bringing it up.
I came home and cried.
thanks for reading my long post. I really am feeling relatively positive...but can definitely still use all of your prayers and positive thoughts.
