Cheyenne : Congratulations! How exciting.

Care: I understand about being down. Sometimes it is all that you can do to just get up in the am. This infertility crap is so very depressing.

A: how did the FET go?

I guess that Patty is MIA

As for me, I am on day 10 of my IVF cycle. I have 10-12 measurable follies with an E2 of 1543. I will probably stim through Sun am, trigger that night and ER on Tuesday. I am up to 250iu of follistim in the am and pm with 5 units of lupron in the am. The ET should be on June 3rd, Toni's b'day. The weirdest thing, to me anyway, was my u/s of my follies today. On my left ovary, the two biggest ones were mashed up together like cartoon eye with all the other ones lined up below making it a smiley face. I have also been VERY nauseous the last two days. I am sure that this will only get worse

Sorry that I am not very chatty. I have just not felt that great.

I'm home from the transfer and feeling really good. Everything went very smoothly. Dr. Schmidt did a great job. He even remembered the IUI he did that went badly and promised me he had read through the notes from my doc to make sure he used the right speculum, catheter, etc.

I'm really pleased to say that both embryos were grade two (this is an improvement from what they were before the big freeze. One was a 9 cell and the other was an 8 cell. The doctor said they looked great. You cannot imagine my relief when he said that.

I feel a lot more hopeful about this cycle now. I will try to post a picture of my embryos later, after Allison scans the pic into the computer.

A- That's AWESOME that your transfer went so well and that your embryos were in such great shape! I'm so happy for you. Did you get to keep an ultrasound picture of the transfer? I think Dr. Schmidt is a really great doctor...he was so good with me, too. Did you end up taking the valium?

I'm going to have to have Laura post up the pictures of our embryos...we're so proud of them...and I keep trying not to think that that's the closest we'll ever get to our own babies. I just don't feel pregnant and it sucks. And I can't believe I just wrote that because I NEVER wanted to be pregnant. Oh well...four more days 'til our blood test.

Cheyenne - Congratulations! I think reading your post yesterday inspired the dream I had last night of getting my own positive blood test results. Even if it was only a dream, I enjoyed it, so thank you!!

Cheryl - You're running exactly two weeks behind my cycle...my trigger shot was two weeks ago this coming Sunday. It's really amazing how just having experienced all this stuff once makes you feel so close to everyone else who's going through it. This coming week will be an exciting one for you...I wish you all the best.

You are right, it DOES make you feel closer to people that you do not even know. I hope that you get good news at your beta in four days.

Thank you both for your well wishes! I can't help but feel more hopeful now. I hope that feeling doesn't end!

Laura, I agree that Dr. Schmidt is a very compassionate and wonderful doctor. He's so optimistic and willing to talk to you about your questions; he's one of my favorites.

Carolyn, I'm glad to hear that you hope you are pregnant since you very well could be! I can't wait to hear the results of your Beta on Tuesday. I think I'm exactly one week behind you.

Cheryl, It sounds like things are moving right along for you. Looks like you are one week behind me. I was also sick during my IVF cycle. My first sign of hyperstimulating was nausea that gradually grew worse. I hope yours does not get worse. Make sure to stay hydrated. I know it can be hard when your ovaries feel so full to feel like putting anything in your stomach. Good luck and I hope your BFP is right around the corner, too.

I wish all of us could meet. I feel like you are all better support than the majority of my friends and family. I really feel bonded to the women on this board.

The nurse just called to say my progesterone is great. It's now 67 and my E2 is 600.

Cheryl, I should add that you should be drinking gatorade or pedialyte. Do you do a 3 or 5 day transfer?

I am going to do a five day transfer. Do you drink gatorade this early? even before the ER? If it will help, I will go get it right now. I am miserable. We are also doing PGD.

Thanks girls, for listening to my b****ing yesterday. I'm feeling a little better today since today was my last day with students. I also got all of my assessments done for all 150 students so I'm feeling good about that. I'm planning on relaxing all weekend, and then I'll have 3 days to pack up my classroom and do the end of the year business. That should be PLENTY of time (actually too much time, I'm sure I'll have plenty of time to be on the Internet next week)!

A- I'm so glad that you're feeling more positive now and that your embryos are better quality than you thought. And your progesterone is up! Excellent!

Cheryl- I've been thinking about you. Sounds like all is well! I can't wait to hear how many eggs you get.

Carolyn- I've heard some people say that no symptoms is actually a symptom of pregnancy!!! Are you going to POAS? I was just thinking about this for me. I don't think I will be able to-- way too scared. Of course, my blood test is only 8 days after my transfer so that won't be so bad. I can't wait to hear your beta on Tuesday!

I agree that I wish we could meet. I don't know what I would do without you all!

Laura and I think we'll probably do the HPT on Monday night since it's our anniversary (2 yrs Commitment Ceremony, 1 yr Civil Union) and it just seems like as good a time as any. Who knows though, we may chicken out.

Anyways, I scanned in our embryos, so we can show them off. Looking at them always makes me feel better.

A - Did they give you a picture of yours today? Or do they not do that for FET?

Cheryl, If you are feeling nauseated, it couldn't hurt to drink gatorade now. Your ovaries could be pulling fluid from your blood and you could be dehydrated, which might make you feel sick. I was very nauseated the night before the ER and we ended up calling the emergency line. The doctor said to start chugging gatorade (64 oz a day) to make me feel better.

Sounds like PGD is a good idea given your history. I hope you get some great news after your ER.

Carrie, I'm glad you are feeling better. I'm sure being done with school really helps relieve your stress levels. Now focus on having some fun before your bedrest. I'm sad to be laid up on the couch this weekend. I would love to go to the beach where it might be cooler. It is HOT here.

Carolyn, What pretty embryos! They look like keepers to me. Ours are not quite that pretty. They have a little bit of fragmentation, but I still think they are awfully cute. Allison still hasn't scanned ours into the computer, but I will definitely post a pic later. I agree with Carrie that having no symptoms is not a bad sign at all. I think a lot of women read too much into each physical symptom (I have been guilty of this myself) and then they turn out not to be pregnant. Then I've seen women swear they weren't pregnant and end up pregnant. So I guess you never know until that beta.

Cheryl, How are you feeling?

Carolyn and Laura, Congrats! I am so happy for you and so hoping I get the same result in a week. You two had some beautiful embryos, so I'm betting on twins.

Carrie, How are your meds? Is your stress decreasing at all?

Jen, How are you feeling?

I am going off bedrest today. I am feeling pretty good, even with my high progesterone levels. I am so thankful not to be on Crinone. That stuff gives me the worst side effects, if you recall some posts from a while ago. DP and I are going to try and get out for a little bit before she goes to work. I'm still trying to take it easy but I am itching to get out and about.

Carolyn and Laura- Great news! I can't wait to hear your beta!

A- I'm glad you're able to get out today. I can imagine you that you're ready! I just saw that your beta is the 5th! I don't think I'm taking my computer to Disney so I won't have access! I don't know how I'll make it four more days to wait to find out. Ugggh!

Well, today I finally started the estrogen. I'm taking 4 Estrace a day. I'm hoping it helps my dry, itchy skin. Estrogen usually does strangely. I have my 1st ultrasound on Tuesday. This weekend my stress is much better. I don't feel as much like I HAVE to be doing things. We're going to try to pack for our trip today and tomorrow- if we feel like it. I know I'll feel better once we're on vacation.

We got a new camera today. Our old one was big and bulky and took forever to take a picture. We didn't research it at all but found a great deal on an Olympus. It's one of those super thin ones. We have Olympus ones at school and they've worked fine, so I'm happy enough. Since we didn't spend much money, I won't care if we buy another one in a year or two.

Carrie, I'm so jealous that you are going on vacation. I wish I was going on vacation instead of to a conference.

I'm not looking forward to travelling. I haven't been on a plane since they banned liquids in carry-ons. That will stink because I always carry a bottle of water, and some lotion, and eyedrops..... I will have to go through my bag to double check for contraband items. I have the added fun of going through security with my big needles, PIO, Vivelle dots, progesterone suppositories.....I'm not sure if I'm supposed to get them out of my bag for security. I have a vision of everyone staring at me as I grandly procure my big bag of meds for my "female condition." The suppositories are the worst because they say 'for vaginal use only' in big letters.

I'm sure once I get to my conference I'll have fun but I keep thinking about giving myself the PIO injection and get nervous. I also have a ritual with taking my various meds (e.g., take my second estrace right after I feed the cats), so I'm worried I won't be as punctual. The good part is that being at the conference will help keep my mind off of everything. When I get back I will only have 2 days until my beta. I'm already getting nervous about whether it will be negative.

DP is working tonight and I am bored. I forgot how bored I get when I'm not working.

In continuing to try and get enough footage for our IVF movie, my DP decided to use our camera to videotape her giving me the PIO injection today. The footage is so funny both of us were in tears. To me, the funniest part is when she slaps me. She has such a look of utter concentration on her face as she slaps me really hard; you can see her hand sink into my flesh with each slap. I swear, I started crying because it was so funny. The other funny part is when she realized she forgot to get the gauze pad ready. I couldn't believe how fast she moved to get it--she was like a comic book hero with the power to move at the speed of light. My DP thought that was the best part. The whole time she looked so serious. When she is really concentrating on a task, she sticks her tongue out and bites it--she was doing this the entire time.

A - Oh my gosh - the movie sounds hysterical! (I hope Carolyn doesn't read that & start thinking about what a good idea it is to tape this process. I left our video camera some where is the Caribbean last winter. I'll never hear the end of it.) I can just picture your DP with her tongue sticking out giving you the shot!

Care - where are you going on vacation???
