Hi there,
First of all I wanted to congratulate you on your BFP. That is amazing. I have a question for you though.....I do lurk on this board a bit because I use frozen, donor spermies and I know alot of girls here use it too so am very interested in success stories.
Would you mind telling me...did you have an IUI to get your BFP? or did you do home insemination? Just one insemination? Did you use frozen or fresh? If it was a home insemination...did you just use a needleless syringe. I know this is a bit personal and you may not want to share and I understand that.
In any case.... and that is very exciting news.

No worries, this board is all about asking personal questions. We got our BFP on our 4th try. We have been using frozen, and doing IUIs in the doctor's office.
To help it work, I was on Femara to help my eggs go (it is an alternative to Clomid - works the same without all the symptoms), and we also did a trigger shot to help induce ovulation. We took Novarel for our trigger shot.
I never did my daily temp thing because my temp is really low (it never registered on the chart), and after a few months, we could never figure out a basline. So we used ovulation kits to determine ovulation. Although that didn't matter much since we used the trigger shot, and knew when I was ovulating.
The only other thing we did (and only the last 2 tries, was going in for a mid-cycle ultrasound. The doctor would measure my eggs, and see if they are doing ok....then he would decide when to give the trigger shot (based on their size).
That's about it. There are a ton of people in Portland having babies, and by people, I mean lesbians. Some have done it at home with fresh, some at home with frozen. So I know of cases where it has worked not going to a doctor. They used a syringe and mostof them did several insemenations at one time. Usually no more than 2.
Thank you so much Robin. I just love hearing success stories and especially with frozen ies...because I worry about it not working.
Now I'm inspired. Currently I'm using Injectibles(very expensive) but I've heard nothing but good things about the Femara. Think I will try it.
On the IUI board a girl who is 41(I'm also 41) just got preggers using Femara. That's excellent for someone of our age.
Thank you for responding. I really appreciate it.
Again, and a happy and healthy 9 months to you.
I just love this success story.
