Default Questions while waiting for results

I am going crazy. I am trying to be a supportive partner (Sharon is going to carry), but I think I'm more anxious than she is.

This is our first month TTC. We got a positive OPK on day 14 and inseminated on day 15. Now it is day 32 and still no period (she usually has about a 28 day cycle). We have been charting and her temp is still up.

She took a home pregnancy test on day 30 (15 days post-ovulation) and today on day 32 (17 dpo). Both were very faint positives. The second test wasn't anymore definitve than the first.

Has this happened to anyone before? Should we wait and re-test? Should we be worried that this might be a chemical pregnancy?

Just looking for some advice and support.

Some people (and the tests) say that ANY positive is a positive.

Unfortunately, we had an experience similar to the one you describe early in our journey. My DW was getting faint lines past the point when they should have been dark. She did end up bleeding/miscarrying a couple of weeks later. But, prior to that she had 2 blood tests (the second to determine changing levels) and based on the numbers they said that it was either chemical or ectopic.

On the positive side, sometimes an egg can fertilize late. Then it would implant late and your numbers would be lower than usually expected. I'm going to hope that this is what happened for your DP.

Can you go to a doctor and get a blood test?

A positive (no matter how faint) is a positive the tests are not quantitative so no matter how dark or light it is definitely a positive. Try to be cautiously She is DEFINITELY pregnant!!

I would definitely try to see a Dr asap just to make sure her progesterone is high enough to support the pregnancy!

Congrats mama!

BTW there is a gay and lesbian pregnancy board too. Alot of us that have already given birth are still hanging out there too.

Our line was very faint, but a positive is a positive!

BTW - Like you, my partner carried but I was the one here for support.

Good luck & call the doctor for a blood test!

Thank you all for your responses. We are feeling cautiously optimistic. Sharon is going to schedule a Drs appointment as soon as she can. Hopefully that will be good news. We will let you know how it goes.
