Cheryl, Welcome back! I am so sorry about your BFN, but I think the IVF is a good idea and it's great that your RE has you starting so soon. Good luck. I believe what Carrie has often said, that it is a good way for them to diagnose problems.
Carrie and Patty, I'm so glad that I'm not the only one who gets upset about the "Stay positive" line. This is why I love you guys over here on this board. I think we are soul sisters over here! I really feel that some people just mean it as a "keep your chin up" kind of thing and some people really believe it can change the outcome of events. It's this type of thinking that bothers me b/c it makes me feel like I'm to blame. I'm sure they don't mean it this way, but that's how it can come off. Anyway, I AM trying to stay at least a little positive, but with a lot of bad news, it's not always easy.
I went for my baseline u/s and bw today. My ovaries were a little rough around the edges (still some follicles left over) but my bloodwork came back good so I'm going to be able to start my FET cycle soon. I lower my dose of lupron tonight, start vivelle dots on 5/8 and go for the transfer on 5/25. I get the weekend to rest and then the following Tues I head to VA for a conference. I'm presenting at that conference so I have to think of ways to keep my nerves low so this cycle works for me!
I spoke with one of the fellows today during the u/s and she gave me some hope about my egg quality for the future. She said changing drug and embryo culturing protocols can sometimes really improve egg quality. She said if my FET fails all the REs will meet and discuss my protocol and ways to change it. She gave me a lot of hope that even if this cycle doesn't work out that it's not all lost. She also said that just b/c an embryo doesn't look as pretty doesn't mean it is abnormal (and vice versa). She said b/c I'm young there's a good chance that many of my eggs are still good (i.e., don't have a lot of chromosomal abnormalities). I feel more hopeful after discussing things with her.
Patty, sounds like you have been busy! Now is not a good time to have an injured arm. How will you pack?
