So, I'm new to all this and I have no idea how you all do it. We haven't even gone in for our first IUI yet and I think I am going out of my head. Feeling positive, feeling bad for feeling positive (like I'm jinxing us or something), worrying that something is going to go wrong (or really just not as planned) and we are going to lose another month - just spending every second thinking about all of this and being anxious. It's exhausting. How do you not let it consume your life?

Secondly, take a deep breath. All you can do it take it day by day. That is what we all have done as well. I mean I know you get hopes up and worry yourself about it, I think we all have at some point in time. That is what makes this board great is that everyone understands..nothing you say or ask is stupid because anyone of us have been there at some point in time.

Are you doing a natural IUI or clomid? When is your first IUI scheduled?

I was a wreck during my first IUI cycle. It was probably the worst for me emotionally. There's so much to learn about the process and every month there is the hope of pregnancy. I had to learn that pregnancy could take a while. It really helped teach me patience. One of the things I do to help me maintain my sanity is to go to acupuncture. It's very relaxing. I also started meditating using a cd. I think these things kept me calmer during my IVF cycle. Another strategy I have for keeping my mind off TTC is to keep busy. I can't tell you how much this helps. That being said, it is pretty all-consuming sometimes, especially with IVF. Ask as many questions as you like. Stay a while and get to know all these great women.
