Icon5 New to this Board

Hello,

My partner and I have just started trying to get pregnant....we did IUI last month, but it didn't take.

This month, we are thinking about trying clomid.....does anyone have any advice? Also, we are wondering if clomid will make you ovulate earlier or later....or does it affect timing at all?

Any advice would be helpful....

Robin

Hello Robin,
Welcome to the board. I'm sorry your first attempt didn't work. I have never used Clomid personally, but I have heard that it can change your cycles somewhat. It can be good when your dr is monitoring you closely in order to time your IUIs. I'm sure someone else here can give you a lot more info. Good luck in your efforts and I wish you tons of baby dust.

Hello Ladies and welcome to the board!
I am a "newer" member my self and can tell you that this board is the best place in the world! I have come to hold these women very dear to my heart in a very short amount of time! I hope you feel as welcome here as I did! About the Clomid, how long have you been ttc? If this past attempt was only your first or second try, I would wait another couple of months and see what happens. Clomid does tend to have your cycles vary, and if you are already on a "regular" schedule than you might want to give it a little while if you have just started AI. If you have been trying for a while talk to your Dr about it! Hey, welcome again and good luck to you! Lots of Baby dust!

Thanks Leigh and Stacy for your advice. It is really good to see/hear other people's experiences about trying to get pregnant.

Thanks, Robin

Hey Robin. My partner started taking Clomid today for the basic fact that we are doing IUI in MD office and MD is not in the office on the weekends. The past two times my partner has ovulated has been on a Saturday or Sunday and we want to do 2 insems in a row. Ovulation on a weekend is not very convenient Good luck with everything.

Kim, that is the main reason we are also trying clomid this month.......how is the clomid going....the last time I took it, for the clomid challenge test that my doctor wanted me to do.....I had terrible mood swings. He doesn't think that will happen this time, since he has put me on a low dose.....is your partner having any side effects?

I feel like taking the clomid is something I am only going to try maybe this month and next.....then I want to talk to my doctor about other options.....have you guys tried/considered other options....

Robin
