Icon9 More Bad News... I think... :(

So the nurse called back with the b/w numbers from the C3T test. DP's FSH was 11.44 on Day 2 and was 23.something on Day 10. The nurse said they like FSH to be below 10 on day 2 or 3 and then either fall or go up by no more than 10% at Day 10. Hers more than doubled! Not good.

So now DP needs to have another test next month before we meet with the RE again. The test is called EFORT. I don't know if the test results will matter or not. I have a feeling her FSH is high because her Ovarian reserve is low! Which would mean we can't use her eggs either for an IVF.

So now I won't know anything for another 3 or 4 weeks. I guess if he tells us her eggs are a "no go" then we will move on to donor eggs or donor embryos depending on the cost or possibly adoption. I frightened by roadblocks we may face as a lesbian couple with these options.

I just spent the last 1 1/2 hours crying uncontrollably. I don't know that I can continue to deal with this!

DP is making cookies- maybe they will help.

Carrie, I'm so sorry to hear about your DPs FSH levels. I have never heard of the EFORT test. What is done and what does it tell you?

I can't imagine waiting that much longer for results. It must feel interminable. Hopefully everything will look ok on the second round of testing. If it does not, I believe that things will work out for you one way or another. As they say, "when one door closes another one opens." I'm sure you'll get your baby one way or another, it just might not be the way you originally planned. Keep your chin up.

wow, that is a lot for one person (well two, you and your dp) to deal with. I am so sorry. I wish there were something that I could say to make it better. I am dumb struck.

Just know that we are here for you.

A- I think the ERORT test is a another test of ovarian reserve. I don't know if it measures FSH too or not. I googled it and most of what I found was from medical journals so it was kind of hard to understand. And I agree that another door will open for us. Maybe just not fast enough for me right now!

Thanks, Cheryl and Patty for your support! Patty- I agree with you. This is a lot for one person to take! A little over two weeks ago- we had just had the egg retrieval and they were so pleased with my cycle. Now, we may be looking at both of us having crappy eggs!

Today is definitely better than yesterday! And DP's cycle is usually only around 3 weeks long so maybe only another 2 weeks until the test is over and we have results!

I'm sorry Care. That just sucks. I hope the next test can give you some good news.

sorry for your news... our story is a bit similar... my 40 year old partner went through 7 unsuccessful IUIs (her FSH is only 6.4!)... well, we decided to switch to my eggs and do an IVF, so she can still carry the baby... I am 30! well, yesterday we got a call and my CD3 FSH is 12.9!!! We don't know what to do now... it is soooo frustrating... we just can't get a break from bad news...
hang in there, and GOOD LUCK!!!

Doesn't it SUCK! I guess FSH isn't the only thing, but unfortunately it's probably not good especially when doing an IVF cycle. I'm sorry about your FSH. Did they suggest more testing?

We're still waiting for DP's next test. It can't get here quick enough!
