Update
I had my egg retrieval today.
I was expecting it to be painful, but, wow, it was bad! I think they max'd me out on pain meds but I was still having a hard time keeping still and was screaming from the pain. Several times they asked me if they should stop, but, I kept telling them to keep at it.
They ended up leaving 1 follicle undrained. My DW says that it was bouncing away from the needle and they did try hard to get into it. She also said that it looked a lot larger than most of the others, so, it was probably one of the ones that they figured was too mature anyway. They said that it was too close to the bowel to keep trying for, but, I'm a little concerned that it was really about the fact that I was in so much pain.
Anyway, I got 14 eggs and we'll hear tomorrow about fertilization. Fingers crossed!

Oh no! That sucks that it hurt so much My DP had little to no pain, but she was knocked out too.
The GREAT news is 14 eggs!!

Re: Update
Yay Hematite! Congratulations on the retrieval! 14 eggs! Wow!
I'm on CD 13 now and just waiting to hit my peak fertility. Inger went to go get the baby juice yesterday, so it's just waiting for us. I also got a microscope to test a little sample to make sure the little boys and girls are awake and swimming. With the acupuncture, herbs, Clomid and the microscope, I guess I'm as ready as I'll ever be. We're doing this thing at home again, so wish us luck.

Re: March Chatty Thread
Good luck Kim.
Of the 14, 11 were mature and 7 fertilized. We're trying hard to remember that this isn't a bad sign. 7 of yesterday's 14 being gone sounds bad. But, when I had my last U/S they said that 4 of them were too large and wouldn't fertilize. The doc at that point, said, "there's 9 here that will probably work." So, yesterday's 14 was really just about getting the large ones and a few smaller ones too. So, if I think of it as 7 of the 9 worked (and maybe even 7 of 8 since they left one there) it's pretty good.
I'm scheduled for a day 5 transfer at this point, but, they might still call tomorrow to switch it to day 3 if they lose a bunch overnight. So, hopefully I'm looking at an ET on Wed.

Re: March Chatty Thread
Hi Ladies!!!
I have used an online chart for my most fertile week and am using ovulation sticks... which I got positives on - for the 18th and 19th of Feb - so I believe I ovulated on the 21st of Feb... (tomorrow is 10 days). My donor gave me his "donations" on the 19th, 21st, 23rd, 25th and 26th... I have a 31 day cyle so should expect my period on the 9th or 10th of March...
I feel really pre-menstrual and don't have one out of sync syptom that would make me think this month took - but I'm praying anyway!!!
2/8/08 IUI - BFN
3/9/08 IUI - waiting
Good Luck to everyone!!!!

Are they really good numbers?
I've been a bit depressed that we only got 7 given that at one point I had 18 follicles between 9 to 16 mm and 17 smaller ones.
I know that all I need is one good one--your stats always make me more confident--but, I'm worried.
Today's good news is that we didn't get a call switching to a day 3 transfer. So, that means that as of today they still have at least 5 growing and expect to get at least 1 to day 5.
