I am soo excited to be a part of this group!! My partner and I are going for our first consult next week. So this is all new to me.
Any help/advice and understanding would be great.
I just turned 42 and my girlfriend is 41. I have had two successful preg when I was 30 & 32 (the "old" way). We are trying IVF - with her egg, my womb and a donor.
My only concern is my age. I know many women who have done just fine with getting preg and having healthy babies at my age. I am in good shape, eat well, don't smoke, little wine now and then, quitting the coffee will be my biggest challenge.
I am hoping that because I have not had difficulty getting preg (both were planned) I won't now. However, we don't know about her end. She is also very healthy (we are both veggies) and "regular".

It sounds like you shouldn't have any problems at all!
Keep us posted. I will be starting the IVF process at the beginning of June.

Welcome and Good Luck! I think you will do just fine, especially since you are giong directly to IVF. My dp and I have been trying for over a year doing at home inseminations with a known donor. I am 37 and she is 25. Our third attempt resulted in a pregnancy, but it ended being an ectopic. After trying all this time, we have decided to go ahead and switch and she is the one we are trying to get pg now. This is our first month using her. We just started insems on Thursday and are still doing them probably for another day or two. She has been pregnant before so we don't think it will take long.
Welcome! I sending lots of baby dust your way. IVF seems to have such good results so I'm sure it will happen quickly for you. I think that's such a neat way to do it also. If money wasn't an issue that's the way my dp and I would do it. Good luck!

Thanks for the well wishes. We were definitely flying blind this cycle, so we are thinking this was just a trial cycle. But we are hoping for the best none the less.
Keep us informed on what is going on with you and how your consult goes. We are very curious.
