Re: June III Chatty Thread
Hematite,
Thanks for the information. I'm not using any information as of yet so we'll see...this is my first cycle and I'm still a novice at the whole thing. Thanks for the update. I'll keep that in mind. didn't know about the cold medicine affecting things, but now I do...and trust me, I'm feeling that today with it.

Re: June III Chatty Thread
I think youre always going to find "research" studies to indicate good and bad in everything. I think anyone who choses to self medicate needs to research and be aware of the pros and cons. I spoke with my ob while ttc and he assured me there was no danger in taking either. The biggest issue I had was a lack of ew. I took robi and my ew increased by leaps and bounds! But each to their own, totally.

Re: June III Chatty Thread
Yeah, I can see that...everyone has their own methods and their own signs... My cervix is really far back and I'm starting to get a little crampy...I'm holding my pee in so I can concentrate it enough to POS later this afternoon and see if I surged. It was negative this morning, but studies have also said that women tend to surge in the afternoon so who knows...I'm doing it three times today and probably three times tomorrow to make sure I catch it at it's earliest...why miss 6 hours of test time if I don't have to...

Yes, that was the point I was trying to make. Check things out for yourself and decide whether or not it's right for you.

Re: June III Chatty Thread
That's nice...just asked my DP to check the box on the OPK that she bought for me (she brought a different brand because it was cheaper and I told her that right now is NOT a place to save money...) and it turns out they were EXPIRED!!! Not just by a month but by a YEAR!!! That could explain the results... she's on her way out to get my original brand (Clear Blue Easy) to make sure I can test tonight and catch it. Does the LH stay in your system until your period? What if I surged this morning...would it still be there tonight?

Re: June III Chatty Thread
Sorry, BabyDust I can't really help.
Everyone's surge is different. Some people slowly rise and then get a big jump, some people stay low and have a quick mega surge. Some people have a prolonged surge. Etc.
The OPK sticks (and we only used ClearBlueEasy) didn't work for me. We were told that we'd only have to test once per day and we'd catch it. But, after missing it completely, I learned to test twice a day and just barely caught it. So, we switched to bloodwork monitoring (much clearer than sticks that are just looking for you to go above a certain level), but, even then I was hard to read and they'd say, "I don't think you're going to ovulate" then call a few hours later to say that I had already surged. So, I quickly moved up to bloodwork and u/s.
Other people have had great success with the sticks at home.
Good luck!

Re: June III Chatty Thread
Hematite,
It's amazing how different everyone's bodies are... I haven't surged yet and i'm not planning to this weekend...i'll test again this afternoon and again tonight but I'm not holding my breath. went to the reg. doctor today and I have a sinus infection and bronchitis so now I'm on antibiotics... Oh well...if it happens earlier next week then great, if not then off to next month....
Good luck to everyone else who is trying this week and this month. I hope you all get your BFPs!!!!!

Re: June III Chatty Thread
OMG I want to POAS so bad. But I don't want to see a BFN.
Tomorrow is two weeks since the inseminations. So it's still early. And my cycle is irregular so who knows when I'm supposed to bleed.

Re: June III Chatty Thread
Good luck Amigone!
I started bleeding yesterday--through the progesterone supplements again.
Argh!
We get such exciting news with the embryos and then I don't get pregnant.

Re: June III Chatty Thread
Are any of you doing IVF or are you all doing IUI?
I'm asking because we are meeting with the clinic on Wednesday to find out when I can start my IVF cycle and I am already starting to freak out about the progesterone shots. I wish I wasn't so anxious about them! It should be a little easier for me because I gave them to my DP for weeks and I saw that they weren't that bad, but I can't stop thinking about them

Re: June III Chatty Thread
Laura -- I'm glad you've got your meeting set up.
I've done 2 IVF rounds now (and we have 2 frozen embryos and an agreement that we'd do 3 rounds before giving up so I'll do it again). But, I've taken progesterone in vaginal suppositories rather than shots. I was told that the suppositories have progesterone suspended in peanut oil, so, you can't take them if you have peanut (or other nut) allergies. Also, they've had me start the supplements with egg retrieval and then test my blood levels at embryo transfer. Basically it's a test to see if my body is absorbing the progesterone; if I were below a certain level they would switch me to the shots.
So, you might get lucky and avoid the shots.
(On the other hand, I'm allergic to penicillin so they gave me antibiotic shots and IV antibiotics before egg retrieval.)

Re: June III Chatty Thread
I'm bleeding--definitely more than spotting. My beta is scheduled for Wed morning and I keep trying to hang onto the thin thread of hope that it feels like I'm bleeding a bit less than last time. But, it's pretty heavy.

No, I didn't call. Last time we called and they said there wasn't anything they could do until the beta date and that I should keep taking the progesterone and wait. So, I just assumed I'd get the same response this time.
But, I plan to bring it up at our follow-up appointment July 15th and ask if there is something else we can do so that I won't have breakthrough bleeding.
