Re: July's chatty thread!
You guys are so funny! And no, I dont mind. I tried to put the pic up and it wouldnt post. I didnt even see the link.... oh well. You can kind of see in the pic where her right front leg is up. She has a leg there, but its a good four inches shorter than the others and has a stump instead of a foot. We call it her peg leg. When she was born, the breeder was going to "bag her" (put a newborn puppy in a plastic bag to sufficate them) because of her leg. But the neighbor of the breeder said she would take her. So she bottle fed her from day one. She was one of my grooming clients. Her previous owner is a nurse and was finding it difficult to spend time with her. So, she gave her to me. Ive had her for two years now.
Shes just such a sweet dog. Shes a retired therapy dog and is great with the kids. Shes 14 years old and I know shell leave us someday soon. I just really didnt want it to happen that way. Im so glad shes home.

Hey has anyone used Provera to "bring down a bleed"?

My DW used provera for ~4 cycles while TTC and then for another 3-4 cycles later--she ovulated regularly until about a month before we started TTC, then didn't ovulate without drugs for about 2-3 years, but, of course, now that we are no longer trying to get her pregnant she ovulates regularly again (go figure!).
If you're asking about symptoms...they were brutal. The combination of provera and clomid created serious meltdowns and significant depression.

Re: July's chatty thread!
holy crap I didn't know about those side effects!! dang! the clomid hasn't given me any side effects (100 mg) but it sounds like the one-two punch could be a different story altogether . . .

Well, the other side effect is that provera will make you bleed and clomid will improve your follicle growth. So, we figured it was worth it.

Oh, I know! It really is awful! Try to fill your time up as much as you can - movies, go out with friends, day trip...any thing to keep you busy. Nothing is going to take your mind off it, but maybe you can make the time go faster.

Re: July's chatty thread!
What a crazy day! I started surging today (thought it would be tomorrow). So, I called to try to see my doc (ob/gyn), but they only are open until 3pm today and only had one opening at a time when my donor friend was not available. They were open on Saturday until this month when I found out they are now closed on all Saturdays as well as Sundays. It is evening and I'm still showing a surge with the cheap sticks, so that is good news. So, now I'm scheduled for first thing Monday morning (hoping it will not be too late for IUI). Then, I decided to also do it myself tomorrow morning (have to be unwashed this time). I was doing it myself for several months before I started IUIs at the doc's office (the washed sperm is so much better). I didn't want to go back to doing it myself, but I don't want to lose a month because the doc is closed. I did call an re place to see if they would do an IUI tomorrow. They said they can't because my donor is not my sexual partner; his sperm would have to be quarentined for a while - some law they said. It seems unfair...if I would have told them he was my husband, then I'm sure they would have said nothing and done it. sigh. Oh well. even if they have to swim further this time, it is better than not trying at all or just hoping for Monday to work. Please, send baby dust to me in the morning. Thanks.

Re: July's chatty thread!
Line -- doesn't it KILL you that OtherPeople'sSchedules could possibly throw you off an entire month?!? But I think you're smart to try it at home and Monday early could work too!
I'm feeling congested 'down there' -- kind of like what I normally feel the day before my period. Also my nipples may be a liiiiittle bit sore, but then that could be cause I'm constantly pinching them to see if they're sore! Lord have mercy.

Re: July's chatty thread!
Ok you guys I'm going even more nuts: my little spit microscope is showing ferning for the 2nd day in a row. Usually that means you're about to ovulate (the test measures estrogen levels) but in my case I'm wondering if the increased estrogen is an early sign of pregnancy.
Every thing I'm reading says I can't test until July 17th, which would be 12 days after insemination. In the meantime I'm still feeling bloated and weird, like my period should come any minute. But i'm so eager to have a symptom I don't trust myself!!

Re: July's chatty thread!
Hey ladies... how's the 2ww for everyone? I have to say that mine was very strange. I started cramping really bad around 11 dpo and then low and behold, AF arrives on schedule...It's amazing. I couldn't ovulate this cycle, but my period arrives like clockwork on 13 dpo... go figure... Well, onto next month.
This cycle was strange because I was truly cramping for two whole weeks in between. Very strange. The HCG shot (10,000 units) came out of my system in five days, so I'm not sure why that is...just strange. We'll look into meds (clomid) for this next cycle. Here's to an April 09 baby!!

Re: July's chatty thread!
Hi Everyone sorry i have been MIA things have been crazy for me..but I saw the post about provera and wanted to say I had to take it and it caused a large cyst to form...I have never taken it again because of that i had no choice at the time because I was on day 40 with no AF in sight. just be careful and don't ignore any side effects you may be feeling.
Welcome everyone new to the boards, and good luck to everyone in the TWW.
I go for my Phsycological evaluation on Wed. we were on hold for a while because we were having a hard time getting the money for the IVF, they wouldn't increase my loan and with the market so bad we couldn't borrow off our home. we asked our parents but they were not willing to help us so we pretty much decided we were not going to go ahead, when my best friend offered to loan us the money, at first we declined ( we are not the type to borrow from anyone) but she insisted so we swallowed our pride and accepted. so now on to this crazy IVF ride

Re: July's chatty thread!
Hi ladies -
We met with the clinic last week about me carrying DP's frozen embryos. I left feeling a little disappointed, but I think that's only because reality set in. With FET there is about a 50% chance of pregnancy, but since DP was 38 when she made the embryos the chances go down to about 40 - 45%.
Check out this logic (or lack there of) even though DP & I are a legal couple AND I am on Caleb's birth cert as a parent, I still have to adopt him. I think it's absurd, but whatever. So, with the embryos we have to get a lawyer for DP to legally transfer the embryos to me to carry. Then when I give birth she will have to adopt the baby! It's all nuts!
So, if the lawyer can see us quickly and get the paperwork done I can start meds the end of my next cycle. If the legal stuff takes longer we will have to wait until the following cycle.
Glad to see you all hanging in there!
 good luck to all!!

Re: July's chatty thread!
Babydust- Im sorry about your bfn! I think that even if the shot is out of your system you may still feel some side effect...Im just guessing but that may be what happened for you in the tww. Which makes the tww even harder cause you are having symptoms and cant trust your body!
S- Im so glad you and DP decided to go ahead with borrowing from your friend! GL keep us updated on every little detail! Cant wait for you to get that big box of drugs!
Laura- Isn't it asinine the lengths we have to go through... so annoying!
  to all!

Re: July's chatty thread!
Linds - I'm probably doing my IUI #2 that same weekend as well. Go in for an ultra sound (I think) on day 11, which is next Tuesday. Doctor said I don't need meds... which is great and I feel lucky but then again I feel like if I were on meds I would have a great chance. We're debating doing 2 insems this cycle...both IUI...any thoughts on that? If it just weren't so expensive... ugh
