how do you?

for those of us that are using fresh sperm. how do you do the inseminations? and how often? and how close to O?

we try at least twice a cycle. as soon as i get a positive opk and then the day of a temp drop. we do our thing and then i lay on my back holding my legs up for the first one and the second one i lay on my stomach. lol.. figure one way they are going to get in there.. so, i'm curious to know the method others are using..

I don't do home insems but through some of my readings.
Some people lay there for a half an hour and turn from front, back, side to side ever ten minutes
I have also read alot about this cup called the instead cup were the sperm is in the cup and you insert it insde of you and it suctions to your cervix. (they say you shoudl practice with that though because it can have spillage)
the one thing I would recommend though is you should definitely orgasim afterwards.

I used a needless syringe and then layed on my back with my hips propped for at least a 1/2hr. You really should have an orgasim too.

We used fresh the first time I conceived and the way we did it was we would inseminate 2-3 times depending on the availability of our donor. We usually had a pretty good idea of when I was going to ovulate so we would do it a couple of days before, then use the OPK and do it the day we got a positive and usually the next day. I would actually have my orgasm first since I can't usually orgasm on my back, and then immediately lay on my back and dp would inseminate and then lay there with my hips propped up for about 30 minutes. I did home self insemination (SI) for quite a few years.....I used a variety of methods to predict O and inseminated using a needleless syringe (no cath) lying on my back, pillows under my hips. I'd then put my legs up in the air for half an hour, and if possible stay lying down after that time for as long as possible. We would try at least 2 times per cycle, either daily or every second day around O time.

Of course I didn't have any success with this method, but that wasn't through any fault of the SI method, rather my body - turns out I have infertility issues - and ended up on IVF. I do have 4 close friends that DID have success with this home SI method.
