Ok, so the big 'ol tank came from Fed Ex today and I must admit I am a bit intimidated. This is our first round and we have everything for it....any ideas or tips?
MNK - it's scary, isn't it? a lot of responsibility. i know when we inseminated at home, I was just praying that I wasn't throwing $1,000 down the drain. It's so hard not to second-guess yourself! How are you monitoring your fertility? did you check the vials to make sure they hadn't busted open? to make sure they were from the donor you requested? how are you going to melt them? in the water or in your armpit? do you have one of those mini ovulation predictor microscopes? wishing you the best of luck!!
We have been monitoring with CBE monitor and with OPK's every 6 hours to make sure we don't miss something...however I am on CD 20 and been High on the monitor for 4 days now with no peak....I received the shipment today and am now wondering if it will last a day or two...I have 2 vials in it. How long does it last if I open it to check it?? I have been so scared to open it and let all the Nitrogen out...LOL Yes, it is very scary!
Girl you can open it and check it! They won't thaw in the time it takes you to read the little number on the side of the vial. What did your sperm bank tell you about how long the 'cold juice' would last? We used PRS out of san fran and they said a week. But a couple of times when we needed longer than a week we went to the welding supply company and got more liquid nitrogen. The guys filling the tank got a good laugh out of it!
LOL....I never thought about adding more LN if I needed it to last longer.....hmmm good idea! My brain is SOOO fried over all this tracking, peeing, ovulating(or not)....LOL Thanks for the well wishes and advice! We did check everything and it looks good and intact so....here we go!
I wish you the BEST of luck, and I know EXACTLY what you mean with the brain fry!!!!! Believe it or not, the extra LN thing really does work, although it is even more brain fry to find it, pay for it, drive around back to the warehouse . . .
