Icon9 HI! Newbies here...

My partner and I are trying for our first child together (#2 for myself) and we are on cycle #4. We went to the doctor today and are starting Clomid with injections this week...GREAT fun. Just wondering if anyone else has experience with these fertility drugs and can offer some advice on what to expect.

Welcome! I use clomid with a Noveral trigger shot, but no other injectables. With the clomid I tend to get some headaches and moodiness. However, I use 200mg per day which is a pretty high dose and most people start off at 50 or 100mg per day. I also do follicale study ultrasounds and IUI with the doc. It works very well for me. With 3 IUIs I've gotten pregnant twice. Recently, I have had a problem with a cyst that got worse with the clomid and seems to be preventing ovulation.

Hope this info helps. Please ask if you have any other questions. Good luck!

Hi,

My partner and I are new here as well. WE are 13 dpiui in our 4th IUI cycle. We are trying to have our first child and it has been a rough ride this far. I was expecting AF today and as of 8:15 pm I have nothing. (im hoping its not the progestrone delay af) Good luck to all and hopefully we will have some great news in a few days

momma-b --- I was on clomid for about 6 months and for the most part it was not so bad. I did have some moodiness but the hotflashes were the WORST for me I would be sitting there one minute and the next minute I would feel like my skin was just melting off of me. I now have a new appreciation for the women in menopause. Good Luck!!!! Oh and I used Bravelle as my trigger shot.

lawgrl73 - Good Luck!! When is your beta test?

so, last night (13dpiui) we did an hpt and got a very faint line. it was a cvs early test. we waiting a while and tested again with another cvs early test and a dollar store test. cvs showed another faint line but the dollar store was negative. this morning (14dpiui) checked with an ept digital and another dollar store---both negative. not sure if maybe the cvs tests are more sensitive or if they produced false positives (lines were very faint). AF was due yesterday and so far so sign of that evil bi$%h. We are confused and frustrated. If I do nto get AF today then I will go for beta tomorrow. how is everyone else doing?

Hiya. I was a clomid queen for one cycle. From what I know of it, clomid helps you ovulate by increasing the number of follicles. Twins are common with clomid.

In april they were concerned I didnt ovulate, so they put me on clomid 50 mg for 5 days. After my IUI, I felt really crampy for the two weeks.
Anyway, dr said I didnt have to go on it if we didnt want twins. haha So I think we'll try the next few cycles without clomid. Here in Canada, it's about $40 for 5 tabs.

Best of luck.
