Re: GTKY/ Linds its your week!!!
Where do you live? We live in Abilene Tx, which I hate. I love our house, our cirlce of friends and the school system -- but Im used to bigger cities (I moved here from Orlando).
How did you and your DP meet? Such a funny story! We met through my then fiance. We were at a bar, and I was coming back from the bathroom -- she turned to her friend and said "That is the girl Im going to spend the rest of my life with." That was nine years ago.....
When did you know it was true love? I learn that its true love more every day. Especially when I see her with our boys.
What does she do that makes you crazy? She gives her cigarettes away. On top of the price of gas, bills and ttc again -- smokes are expensive. Its bad enough that shes a smoker.....
What are your pet peeves? I dont have a lot. But here lately Ive noticed that more people are calling us just when they want something, and its making me nuts!!
What "type" were you in high school? ie, cheerleader/nerd/jock I was a funny mix. I made bad grades and dressed dark -- but was popular and in student council -- how crazy is that??

Re: GTKY/ Linds its your week!!!
How has trying to conceive affected your relationship? Well, were super blessed to have gone down this road before and were sucessful. So, we know more of what to expect when adding another one to the family. Were in the process of getting our license to be foster parents, so either way well have a bunch of kids around. But theres always the concerns of bills and how to work out bedrooms (the boys each have their own room).
What is your favorite holiday and why? I LOVE Christmas. Just the whole time of year is great. Our new house has a fireplace, which I love. Theres nothing better than to put on comfy jammies and watch The Grinch with hot chocolate. I remember hearing people say that the best thing about Christmas is watching your kids. Its really true. The magic of it all. Justin loves the movie The Polar Express. I dont let him see me, but I cry everytime I watch it.
if you could do anything for a living what would it be? Im doing it - Im a stay at home mom. Sometimes it gets very boring - I dont leave the house for several days sometimes. But outside of the home I would have loved to be a pharmisist, but I suck at chemistry - so maybe being a sahm is good for me!!
what is something your DP does that you pretend is annoying but you secretly love? Mistee is a major coffee drinker. 24/7/365 -- theres always a pot brewing. Even when its 102 outside! But what bothers me is that she leaves coffee cups EVERYWHERE! But I know Id miss it if she wasnt around.....

Re: GTKY/ Linds its your week!!!
1. what do you find most attractive about your partner? Physically? I love her ***!! But on an emotional level -- Mistee is very much a kid at heart. Shes the one who rolls on the floor with the boys and chases them around the house. She loves to kid around and makes everyone laugh. When answering the phone she says "Whats Shakin Bacon?" instead of hello. But when I call --- "Hello Beautiful" every time.
2. What is one regret you have in life that you wish you could change? That I would have bought thoes stupik OPKs!!! No really, I dont have any regrets. Im a firm believer that every choice Ive ever made and every position Ive ever been in has gotten me where I am now. If I were to change something I may not have met Mistee, or I may not have my boys.
3. Has trying to conceive affected your "intimacy" levels? Intimacy levels?? Are you kidding, what intimacy levels? Did I mention I have two boys at home, ages 8 and 2? And that both of them insist on sleeping with us?? Yea, we could have saved SO much money on a freakin one bedroom house. But NO, we thought the boys needed their own "space". I told Mistee yesterday that we should just move our clothes into Jaek's room and start sleeping in the toddler bed - cause obviously he has taken over the king in our room! Seriously, Josaphine (the poodle) has been sleeping in his bed since shes been home! But to really answer the question honestly - we do have a tendancy of letting life get away from us. Its not so much the ttc that is the issue - its what comes after the ttc - bills, soccer, softball, church, etc etc. We have made a point to get away if even for a couple of hours about everyother week, just us.

Re: GTKY/ Linds its your week!!!
Okay I've got some questions:
1. How "out" are you in your community? Does your comfort level with outness match your wife's?
2. What roles do you and your wife play in the managing of the house? For example, who does the bills, who takes out the garbage, etc.
3. What is the nicest thing your wife has ever done for you?
4. Are there any secrets or things you don't tell your wife because you feel it is for the best?

Re: GTKY/ Linds its your week!!!
1. How "out" are you in your community? Does your comfort level with outness match your wife's? We are out but dont advertise, if that makes since. I feel like I dont expect people to come running to me to tell me they are straight, so I dont need to be doing it just cause Im with another woman. The only time Im very upfront about it is with my home day care. I watch a few kids in the house during the day. Its part of my contract that the parents know were in a "non traditional" relationship. I did that just to watch my own butt!
2. What roles do you and your wife play in the managing of the house? For example, who does the bills, who takes out the garbage, etc. Its funny cause Im very much the "domestic diva" and shes the motorcycle ridding "dad". When she comes home from work the house is, for the most part clean and dinner is ready for her. I do the bills just cause I have more time during the day to budget, write checks and make phone calls. She does all the yard work and truck maintenience.
3. What is the nicest thing your wife has ever done for you? One year for my birthday she sent me on a scavanger hunt all over town. The end result was her waiting for me with a picnic at the park, by the pond where we like to feed ducks.
4. Are there any secrets or things you don't tell your wife because you feel it is for the best? Not really. We tell each other everything, good or bad. The only thing I can think of that we dont really discuss is the bills. We dont really agree on how the budget should be done. But since Im the one that does the bills, I do it my way. But if she ever wants to know about something thats been paid or whats going on -- I show her.

Re: GTKY/ Linds its your week!!!
What do you and DP do for fun? We love to barbque with friends. Our new house has a great back yard, I think. So, were usually the hang out house on the weekends. Other than that were the typical pta soccer moms.
Where did you grow up? I grew up in Oklahoma City. However, I grew up showing dogs and have done lots of traveling. After graduating I moved all over the country, so I kind of grew up on the road, so to say.
Whats your favorite childhood memory? My father died when I was very young. I always turn to my memories of him. A fond one I have is when he would sing to me along with the car stereo.
What traditions do you and dp have? A big one is that at Christmas, we go one a special trip. Everyone in the family picks out a special ornament for the tree. We put that persons name and the year on the bottom of the ornament, so well always know whos is whos.
Whats your favorite movie? By far -- Fried Green Tomatos. Its my favorite book too.
Whats your favorite color? Its a tie between purple and pink.
How many kids do you and DP want? Ok, we have three (two at home). We want one more that Ill carry and want to adopt at least one. We figure we'll really just leave it up to God. If we feel like a foster child is meant to be a part of our family but weve already met our "quota" -- well, we'll

Re: GTKY/ Linds its your week!!!
What kind of dogs did you show? My mother and I bred and showed Dalmatians while I was still living with her. When I started working with professional handlers, I worked with various breeds - but when all was said and done, I specialized in terriers.
What did you like/dislike about dog showing (other then the obvious THE dogs!! ) Oh, I actually thought the dogs were the best part! Its the people I had a hard time with. The best part by far is the travels. However, the business is very time consuming. For me it was really a choice between that lifestyle and having a family.
Whats your most embarrassing moment when you and DP were datings?in Dog Showing?when you were a teenager? Alot of times when I was showing the dogs I wore a body slimmer under my suits. I felt more put together and the clothes just looked better. Well, one day while I was in the ring, someone outiside the ring (watching) says hey! I can see your girdle! I really cant think of anything from when I was a teenager - and thats funny, cause Im sure everything was embarrassing when I was a teenager.
Ok, when Mistee and I were new - we went to a concert. Mistee was drunk. Like we never actually saw the concert because she started puking drunk. But in the meantime, she was talking to the people we were with (aparantly about sex) and she very loudly says to them "Hey Lindsey likes it in the *ss!!" Yea, people three rows back heard her. So, I very loudly replied back with "Youve got me mistaken for your other girlfriend!" Im a pretty laid back and easy going person and am not shy. However, that embarrased the crap out of me. Maybe if I did like it in the booty, I wouldnt have been so embarrsed. I dont know. I do know that I almost dug a hole for her in the back yard over that one!!
How long did you and DP date b4 you moved in together? Thats the million dollar question!! Uhhhh, two weeks..... However, I would NEVER do that again and dont recomend it. We got very lucky.

Re: GTKY/ Linds its your week!!!
Linds- My DP and I show and breed Australian Shepherds so I totally understand the Dog World. And you are very right about how time consuming it is. We have backed off some since TTC but I am sure once we do, we will hit the circuit again.

Re: GTKY/ Linds its your week!!!
I love Aussies! I worked for Jimmy Moses when he ran with Flapjack (I was 18 - so that was MANY years ago). They are very sweet loving dogs. But yea, its very time consuming. And even more so when you have 40-60 dogs in the kennel and are traveling with 30 everyweekend. I loved it. And I do miss it. But it really wouldnt be fair for the boys to live that life again. I think maybe when we get done making babies and the kids are a little older - I wouldnt mind getting a couple to take on the weekends. I dont even know what breed I would want to get into. I loved the terriers, but my hands cant handle the upkeep of their coat. Thats a big part of why I retired from grooming. I can hardly brush my teeth some mornings, let alone hand strip a wire fox.
