Default GTKY Game(more questions!!!!)

Ok here's the rules:
  • I will ask a question and you will answer that question and ask one more.
  • We will keep going till we get sick of it...
  • You can answer any and all of the questions. BUT You only HAVE to answer the last question given. (so you can pick and choose except for the LAST QUESTION asked you HAVE to answer that one!!!)
Here is my question:
What baby name did your DP say ABSOLUTELY NOT to and why?

I'm game...

We haven't talked names too much- mostly because we don't want to jinx anything...

I mentioned Walt once. She didn't particularly like it. That's okay- I ended up naming my puppy Walt- I think it's a better name for a dog than a little kid.

My question...Have you and your partner decided what you (and the kid) are going to call each other when you become mommies?

Carie- EXCELLENT question!!! I would like to see what others have thought of. We have talked about mom and mommy...not too creative there.

What type of birth do you want to have?

I'm going to try for an unmedicated (at least no epidural) birth. We'll see how that goes. I did get meds (but again no epidural) when I delived Emma and I only dialated to 5cm. I keep telling myself the next time will be different because I'll be working to birth a live baby. Also, none of this is because I'm at all woo-woo, just because I like the quicker recovery time. Sorry for the long answer.

As far as what our child will call us, we've decided that they can come up with what works for them. We'll probably just call each other mommy until then.

Next question: Do you have any baby names picked out?

Hey everyone, great questions...I'm going to answer the lot!!!

1. Well so far DP has agreed to the names I want and love (will get to them in number 4), but DP had always wanted the name 'Chance' for either girl or boy, but I really didn't like it...I'm one of these people that think if you are going to name your child a word then it should have a strong meaning and I don't think chance is one of them, but thats just my opinion of course!

2. Well we have sort of decided to be called 'mummy' for me and 'mummy ren' for DP (rens the name she goes by), but of course we will let the child decide for themselves, we are not too worried

3. I want to try for unmedicated (no epi) as I don't really like the idea of how its done...but then I have never been through childbirth so who knows what I will do when the time comes Oh I also really, really, want a water birth!

4. Bub names picked, and DP is firm about them not changing, but I keep reminding her that yes we love the names now but who knows when we see their lil face...
GIRL- Makenzi
Boy - Izayah

Now for my add-on question...(and this is more to check whether or not Im insane lol)
5. Do or has either you or DP started a collection of bub clothes, furniture, other items etc although you haven't even become pregnant yet??

1) Minerva, lol, you should have seen the look on her face when I mentioned that one. LMAO!

2) We still aren't completely positive but probably Mama for DW and Mommy for me. We'd both be mom.

3) I've seriously thought about a natural birth but I think I'll probably want the drugs and I deffinately want a vaginal birth unless it absolutely necessary for a c-section.

4) Nope, we aren't that far along yet?

5) In a weak moment I went out and bought an outfit. But that's all for now.

My Question:
Do you and/or your DP want to know the sex of the baby before it's born?

Soooo many questions...

1. I originally asked the question about what your child will call you. However, we haven't discussed it too much- a couple of conversations here and there. We agree with Joanna that our child will probably come up with what works for them.

2. Childbirth- I'm not that far with my thinking yet. Although right now I seem to have an infinite wealth about TTC (b/c it's been so long!), I really don't know that much about pregnancy and the actual childbirth. I'd like for it to be unmedicated, but once I get there I may change my mind!

3. I have several names picked out, but none are final. Again, I don't want to jinx anything. My favorite names are for twin girls- Elizabeth and Isabelle (Lizzie and Izzie).

4. As for baby stuff, we actually have a TON right now. But it's covered in the basement (I don't want to think about it being there!). My aunt had an IVF baby at age 47 in March of '05! She lives in Houston, we live in St. Louis (a 12 hour drive). Her house is REALLY small and she had sooo much stuff. Before we traded in our SUV for something more fuel efficient, we went down there to pick up the stuff. So now we've got 2 infant car seats, a swing, and a whole bunch of other stuff! Now we just need the baby. I get really depressed in Babys R US so I avoid it- anybody else?

5. Yes, I definitely want to know the sex. I know many people don't and that's totally cool. But I want to know. It's something about the Type A/ control freak in me!

My next question...

Have you thought about daycare, a nanny, staying home, etc.?

I'm going to answer myself right now. (I hope that isn't against the rules.) I know I have to work because (at least now if the IVF works and I get pregnant) the baby will have to be on my insurance- DP and I are both teachers and our school district is definitely not progressive with domestic partner benefits. And DP will have to work b/c I can't carry her on my insurance either- plus we moved a couple of years ago to a house that was large enough for a family and I'm sure we need two incomes to pay the mortgage. (Wow- I'm sure you're all like TMI!)

So, anyway, it's definitely daycare for our kid. I figure we're off in the summers and several weeks a year so that helps too! I don't know if we'll end up at a daycare center or with someone who babysits out of their home (we have friends who do both).
