Glad to find a community
Hi! I have read a few of the posts here and you guys all seem so nice! I didn't realize there were communities out there on the web where women shared about their pregnancies and everything before and after. I'm so glad I found this, because I'm the only lesbian I know other than my partner, and we live in a rather conservative area - no lesbian mommy groups here. I'm actually ovulating right now, but we're exercising our better judgement and waiting until next cycle to try our first AI, because we just started looking for donors about two weeks ago. We have a couple of really good possibilities, but we want to be sure we're working with the right donor and that I've really got a handle on charting my cycles. But I'm so excited - after a year of talking and planning and tracking, we're actually going to start trying to have a baby!
Okay, I have to go, Amy is crawling between my back and the back of the chair, I think she wants attention! Babydust to all, and I'm out!

Re: Glad to find a community
Welcome, Janna and Toni!
Are you guys looking for a known donor or using anonymous frozen sperm? With the distraction of the holidays, next month will be here before you know it (easier said than done! I'm waiting for DP to take a test next month and it seems as though it will never come!).
Good luck!!
 Care

Re: Glad to find a community
Thank you all for your replies, I feel so embraced. I'm waiting for the holiday rush to help me get through waiting for my first chance at AI, I am so excited and ready to have a baby I just want to get started. I try not to think about how it'll probably take several tries....Care75, we are going to use a known donor. We're currently corresponding with several different men who live in the area, and will be choosing one to work with soon. There isn't a sperm bank within the immediate area, and that's a bit out of our budget anyway. We're just hoping to avoid complications like fertility treatments - the doctor says I seem perfectly healthy and there are no obvious issues, so maybe we'll get lucky and be able to conceive with nothing more special than the syringe! Thanks again to everyone for being so welcoming. Gotta go start Amy's bedtime stuff,

Re: Glad to find a community
Janna- come join us on the chatty thread. It is just a place to chit chat with each other. It helps pass the 2ww time nicely.
If you don't mind me asking how did you guys have Amy? (at home insems? medicated? etc.)
