We have been together since 93...and never been "married", if we ever travel to a place that it is legal we may do it...I would love to do it in Hawaii

Where do you live?
We just moved to Austin TX (I never thought I would live in TX, and I REALLY never thought I would LIKE it!!! But Austin is AWESOME!!!) unfortunately Julie is not happy with the company she works for and we miss our family so we will probably be moving back to Fla soon.

What do you and your DP do?
I used to own my own Business as a mobile groomer. Before that I was the manager of a Borders Books for like 6 years.
Julie is a marketing manager

How long have you been TTCing?
We tried for a little over 6 months, it seemed like 6 years...

Have you always wanted children?
Julie has, but I thought I did not want them I had a very bad childhood and did not want to repeat anything that happened to me to anyone else...then one day I held a 6wk old puppy and kept saying I wanted a baby. I thought I wanted a puppy. We got a puppy...well that only worked for like a year...then I realized it was not a puppy that I wanted, but an actual baby. the weird thing is I had always wanted to be pregnant though. I always wanted the experience.
Julie always wanted to have kids, but she never pressured me.

How many do you want? What sex?
I had always said that if I had a baby I wanted to have one girl. I grew up with a little brother and he was a BIG PAIN so I did not really want a boy. Ironically I would probably be a great mom to a boy cause I love snakes, frogs, lizards and have always been a tomboy that looks like a girly girl. Julie on the other hand looks like a tomboy but she has a hard time using a hammer!?! I am hoping that one of my girls is a tomboy and one a girly girl, so that we will both have our own "special" time together. Manicures and Science Museums respectively.

Do you have names already picked? What are they?
It took us FOREVER to come up with the names that we have. I was calling them by name from the time we decided so like 7 months then when they were born a nurse called Emerson Emory and it took me weeks to stop calling her that!!!! It made me CRAZY!!

Tell us about your favorite vacation.
B4 we started trying Julie and I took a cruise vacation to Alaska and it was FABULOUS!! we did dog sledding and helicopter ride. We saw beautiful glaciers. We had a great time and it will probably be the last vacation for quite a while.

We have been together since September of '99. We are not married. We thought about it and had actually planned a ceremony, but then she got into grad school in NH and we had to move, so we postponed it. By the time we came back, we had re-prioritized our life. Right now it just would be an added expense that won't really get us anything since it's not legal here. We feel married. That's enough.

Where do you live?
Indianapolis, IN - not the best place in the world for lesbians, but eh, it's where we are, most of our friends are close by and our families (or most of them) are within driving distance, so it's fine.

What do you and your DP do?
I am a band director in the city school system. DP is an English teacher at a rich, private, college prep school. Talk about extremes!

How long have you been TTCing?
We first went to the RE in April - but because of bizarre complications (who knew I wasn't immune to Rubella????) we didn't get to try until June - so I guess we are on 6 months and counting.....

Have you always wanted children?
When I was younger, I did not! I have 4 siblings and enough was enough. Then I started getting older and - no joke - my body just sort of wanted to have kids. Now, I'm obsessed and it's all I think about. DP was harder to convince - she just kept saying someday - and then, someday was finally here!!!!!!!!!!!!

How many do you want? What sex?
I'm not really sure. More than one. We'll probably just take it one baby at a time. We would both like girls - frankly - we are a little afraid of boys....but I want a baby and if it comes in boy form, so be it!

Do you have names already picked? What are they?
Sort of - we are firmly settled on the girl's name, but the boy's is still up for debate (in my mind - DP has settled) I'm not allowed to tell........

Tell us about your favorite vacation.
Last year, we actually had the same spring break!!! Amazing. We rented a cabin in the Smoky Mountains and just hung out, went hiking etc. It was wonderful to just spend time together somewhere that wasn't home.

How long have you been together? Are you "married"? We've been together 18 years. It will be 19 on May 1st. We are DP's and planning to get married on May 2d 2009, unless we spend all our money on IVF.

Where do you live? Nevada. We just moved back here. We lived in Los Angeles and hated it, but my wife had a good job and we paid down alot of bills. I love being back home!!!! I love being back near our families (both families are very supportive).

What do you and your DP do? We're both attorneys.

How long have you been TTCing? 2 months, but we've been waiting to start for forever. I am on 100mg of Clomid (because of my age and because my RE says Clomid significantly raises your chances for success with IUI but so far it hasn't worked for me) and then on Progesterone suppositories in the TTW (because my RE makes everyone take them. I personally worry that they will make a bean stick that nature wouldn't have let stick if left to her own devices).

Have you always wanted children? Yes, I come from a big family and I've always wanted children. We always thought Rob would carry but her health made that risky so.....

How many do you want? What sex? I'd like to have 3-5 but she wants 2-3. We'll probably compromise and have 2-3. I'd like to have a couple of my own (I'd be grateful for one now) and then adopt a few. I don't care about gender; I just hope they like sports and school!

Do you have names already picked? What are they? We have 2 boys names: Zev Abrahm and Brendan Atticus and two girls names: Zoey Ruth and Sarah Ariel.

Tell us about your favorite vacation. We haven't had a vacation in years!!! First we were poor and in law school and then Rob's job in a big firm (I was at a smaller firm doing queer parentage actions (non-bio mom rep) and gay divorce) made taking a vacation impossible. Now, we're both government attorneys and it seems like, after law firm life, we're on vacation all of the time. Plus, were saving up all our vacation time for when we become parents.

Tell us about your favorite vacation.

Dp and I went to a spa and resort on the beach and we had facials, breakfast in bed, we lived like queens. I hope one day to do that again. We always go somewhere fun because DP plays softball ( she was on a full ride in college for it before she got injured) so we travel a lot for games. Most of the girls are like DP a little more butch, I am a totally girl so I get treated like a princess. its fun!

Hmmn...I've been delaying my response because I didn't want to answer this first question. So, can I just stick with being "hematite"? And we can call my DW, "wakefield". Hope this is okay.

We've been together since 2003 and we got married in Aug 2004 (legally, at our home church).

I'm a teacher and a PhD graduate student and my DW is a Civil Servant.

4 years! (I've definitely run out of energy for dealing with this and it has cost us a fortune--I can't imagine paying US prices.)

Not always. When I was a teenager and really young adult I didn't think I'd want to be a parent. But, I think I changed my mind at around the age of 22. By 25, I really wanted to have a child. I'm 33 now and starting to worry that it may never happen.

How many do you want? What sex?
At this point, one would make me happy. I used to say 2 (1 from each of us) and my DW said 3 (1 from her and 2 from me). Now, I figure we'll be thrilled with whatever we get in terms of biological kids and may look at foster care in order to provide a home to other kids who need one.

A trip to Southern and Northern California. I believe my favorite part was seeing the big redwood trees in Humboldt. Being surrounded by those big beautiful amazing trees is hard to describe. It just humbles you. Being their with the one you love to experience it for the first time, well that just stops and jumpstarts your heart in ways that give you a whole body gasm.

We've been married almost 9 years and together 11 1/2

I'm a physical therapist assistant and inventor and my wife is a supervisor of the call center for UCI Medical Center Orthopedics.

How long have you been TTCing?
That's an interesting question. I'll try to keep it brief. I tried TTC a few years ago and found out I have a unicornuate uterus (google for more info) after two cycles. So, Inger tried 5 cycles and we think she had an early miscarriage. But then she decided it was too hard on her heart (it broke a little more with every BFN), so we stopped. After some time off, we decided to adopt. But then after a little more time, I decided that I wanted to try and get pregnant again, so here we are. But I was on this site a few years ago when there were only about 6 or 7 of us. My, have things changed!

Have you always wanted children?
Yes, for as long as I can remember. I saw my cousin born at home, and I was blessed to be in the delivery room when my SIL gave birth to my soul daughter, AKA my niece, Sophie. Sophie is almost 6 and the light of my life. I also have a nephew, Aiden, who is 4 and is all boy, and migrates to Inger. So, it all works out when the kids have sleep overs, because Sophie likes to be with me and Aiden likes to be with Inger.

How many do you want? What sex?
Seeing how I'm almost 39, I don't have much time. Ideally, I'd love to have 2. As far as the sex, it doesn't matter. I just want to be a mom.

Do you have names already picked? What are they?
Noah Doram for a boy, and the girl's name is still up in the air. Inger likes Kyra and I like Sydney. The middle name will be Kathryn after my great-grandma.

Tell us about your favorite vacation.
I grew up in Lake Tahoe, so every time we go there is wonderful. However, Inger and I took a vacation to the DC area last year. We stayed in Alexandria, VA and went sight-seeing in DC every day for 4 full days. My mom and dad went with us, and we had a blast. We had a 2 bedroom suite and took the Metro into DC every day. We had a private tour of the Capitol (impressive) and White House (unimpressive), toured the Library of Congress, went to the Smithsonian museums of American Indian, Natural History, Air and Space, walked along Barracks Row (my dad is a retired Marine), oooh, and took a night time limo tour of all of the monuments. I would have to say Iwo Jima Memorial was the most impressive under the lights. We're hoping to go back soon to tour some more.

My Name is Alex and my partner's name is Lara.

How long have you been together? Are you "married"?

We have been together for two years. We are engaged and will be legally married in Canada on May 15, 2008. We can't wait!!

What do you and your DP do?

We are both currently full-time graduate students. I am getting my MA in Professional Counseling, as well as three licensures: LPC, LMFT, and NCC. My parter will get her MA in social work, and be a LMSW. We also work part time at the Department of Family and Protective Services.

How long have you been TTCing?

We are at the VERY beginning of the process. We are three months away from our first attempt at home insemination. We are trying to read every TTC book in sight, but still have so many questions. I'm hoping this message board will help to answer.

Have you always wanted children?

Yes, absolutely always. For as long as I can remember I have always been passionate about children and animals, and I've noticed that most of my jobs have involved children in some way. I have never NOT wanted to be a mother. As I'm approaching 30, it seems that my biological clock is ticking so hard it is almost screaming at me to have a baby. I can't wait to experience pregnancy, the birth process, and motherhood!!

How many do you want? What sex?

I want at least three children. The ideal situation for us would be two pregnancies (we would each carry once) with three children (one set of twins). Twins run in my partner's family - she is an identical twin, and she has a set of fraternal twin siblings a few years abover her. Because her mother had two sets twins randomly, there is an increased chance that my partner will have twins, which would be awesome. As far as the sex, we will be extremely happy and relieved just to have a healthy baby, but if we could choose, I want a boy and my partner wants a girl.

Do you have names already picked? What are they?

Yes, we have a whole list of names. We have about 20 names picked out for several categories: single girl, single boy, middle names for both girl and boy, girl/girl twins, boy/boy twins, and girl/boy twins. We will narrow down quite a bit when we know if we are pregnant with twins or a single baby, and when we know the gender.

Tell us about your favorite vacation.

My favorite vacation will be here in 3 months. We will travel to Canada from Texas to be married, and we will be there for a whole week. This will be our joint wedding/honeymoon trip, and we are both counting down the days.

Where in Canada are you headed? Do you have family members and friends coming with you? It sounds like a terrific thing to have to look forward to.
