Default fertile mucus

Hi everyone,

Has anyone heard of using egg whites to simulate fertile mucus when you home inseminate? Has anyone tried it? I read about it and was wondering if it helps...

Hmmmmm...I've heard fertile mucus is like egg whites but never using them. I've also heard eating the whites could help. But would think using raw egg/ egg whites could pose a bit of a health threat (salmonella?) Especially, if you plan on using then in a warm dark crevice that something like salmonella would love to breed in.

Never heard of it, but wouldn't doubt anything !

Hugs

Hi Ronda,

I thought it was odd too, but the Lesbian Guide to Pregnancy and Conception says that some women swear by it!! If anyone else has any input, let me know. I'm inseminating tonight, cross your fingers for me!

I feel as long as it can hurt anything, anything to get a little bit of an edge in this baby game if definately positive (even as far as taking vitamins, I never used to take them, but I throw those babies back every morning LOL)

Hugs,
Ronda

P.S. Let me know how everything turns out for you either way! I'm here for you!

Yes I have heard of that as well and thought of trying them out. I decided to try eating grapefruits first! And by golly they worked! I get better EWCM now. I try to eat one every morning.

I've also heard about taking robbitussin(sp). That's supposed to help as well.

Here's some !

and all things x are x!!!

Hi all,

We tried with just a bit of egg whites last night. Some squirted back out on my partner - boy was she disgusted! Anyway, is there a place for learning all the abbreviations posted here? I was laying in bed after inseminating last night brainstorming what in the world BFP stood for!? Still lost....

Don't feel bad I found out what BFP was and kept forgetting it! You want to print this out Abbreviations and keep it near. I know it helped me decipher what everyone was saying.

Just copy Abbreviations and paste in into your address bar if iit doesn't show up as a link!

Hope this helps,
Ronda

Also, Michelle, just curious, about how much did you use? I just wanted to know for my own knowledge. I didn't read that you were supposed to use any certain amount and everything I found was kinda vauge. I mean there's a BIG difference in using all the egg white minus the yolk or just 1/4 tsp.

Thanks!
Ronda

From what i've read and heard, egg whites don't stimulate fertile mucus. However, if you are lacking in mucus, it can be used as a substitute for your own. What helps stimulate your own mucus is grapefruit juice, baby carrots, green tea. But you need to start taking them at the beginning of your cycle thru ovulation. Robitussin helps to thin it out some so that what you have isn't too dry/thick.

yes, what she said

Actually, I did try using egg whites (inserting via a needleless syringe prior to inserting the sperm) as I rarely had any CM! I got the idea from "The Essential Guide to Lesbian Conception, Pregnancy adn Birth" by K Toevs and S Brill, made sure I used a freshly cracked room temp egg (white only), it was meant to give the sperm a "path" to swim up in the absence of the correct CM. That said I did later read about salmonella risks on one of these boards....so didn't use it again!

best of luck to you
