Default ER results

ER was today. I had 12 follicles the other day, and we ended up with 9 eggs. They couldn't tell me if they were all mature or not yet- I'll get that info. in the morning. We are doing ICSI and apparently that has a 90% success rate for fertilization. My doc only puts back 2 embryos in my age category, so I'm hoping that I get two to put back and at least 2-3 that make it to the freeze. I'm terrified today and will be this whole weekend as we wait to see how many make it. I'm a little disappointed with 9, but if they end up being good quality and fertilize then I will be THRILLED!

I feel fine now but had a lot of cramping right afterwards. I had to sleep off the anesthesia.

I'll have the fertilization report tomorrow! Cross your fingers for me!

Nine sounds wonderful!!!!!

And with ICSI I think you'll be happy with the amount that fertilize. I did ICSI also....GOOD LUCK!!! Get plenty of rest and try not to worry to much let someone else do the worrying for you!!!

So I'm a little disappointed, but I'm trying to be hopeful.

Of the 9 that were retrieved, 7 were mature. Of the 7 mature eggs, 5 fertilized with ICSI. So we have 5 to work with. I'm hoping that they make it to day 5 (Monday)- when we'll do the transfer and freezing. The lab doctor will call me back each day to let us know how they're doing.

I did an egg donor cycle when I was much younger- for my aunt- and only 3 of 13 fertilized, so this cycle is better. But I was really hoping for more to work with- especially with the ICSI and with the fact that nothing has ever been diagnosed with me.

Trying to stay positive... These embryos need to fight hard!
