Default About to tackle insem no: 3

Hi everyone, well after two months of unsuccessful inseminations there is less than a week till our next month of trying (if my cycle stays the same) FINGERS CROSSED!!! Just wondering if anyone will be doing insems either at home or through a clinic around this time also? Would be good to have someone else to chat to about the process...especially the tww!!!

Also if anyone wants to share their success stories, how long they tried for? At home or through clinic? And any other details would be great, Im very interested in hearing about it!!! Thanks guys

Good luck on your upcoming insemination. We're on a break to get rid of a cyst that seems to be preventing my follicales from maturing. AF should be here in 3 weeks and assuming the cyst is gone we try again that cycle.

As far as your other questions, I've had two pregnancies from IUI at the doc's office. I have PCOS and use clomid, ultrasound, and a trigger shot. I got pregnant with the second IUI but that ended up being an ectopic. I got pregnant again the next IUI we did but that baby had a chromosomal defect, Turner's syndrome, and I lost her at 18 weeks. So, both losses were flukes and there's no reason to believe either will happen again. That's kind of a success story.

Well I had one success with IUI all natural, frozen sperm in the docs office. My very first insemination I got PG it was amazing. Unfortunately I lost the baby at 9 weeks. So it gives me hope to know I can get pregnant I just have to keep it growing inside.

Hello. We had a success on attempt number 3 when we were trying to get me pg. Unfortunately, it turned out to be ectopic. We have been using a known donor at home. We just got our bfp on the first try with DP after trying with me for a year.

Just to give another success of one of my best friends. They just had their baby boy 2 months ago using a known donor at home as well. I also have another couple that I am friends with that have a 6 month old baby girl using anonymous donor from a bank doing it at home.

I wish you much success on your next insem.

I've only lurked over the past few months-but we had a successful IUI the
2nd time around at a doctor's office with a frozen donor. It was my partner's decision-she preferred an unknown donor-I was fine with it. I trusted the doctor the first time around-too much I think-and did not get pregnant. I went for the u/s and trigger shot and I knew the time was off-sure enough AF came 2 days early.

The next month I asked if we could skip the u/s and shot and I used a home OPK and went in for 2 back to back IUIs with the frozen donor and it worked like a charm. Doc says I should consider myself lucky it happened 2nd time around-I consider myself lucky he was willing to do it my way! I thought the u/s and trigger were not needed in my situation...everyone is different.

Best of luck to ya'll!!

Thanks everyone, nothing like a few good success stories to get me back into higher spirits, was starting to feel a little down about our unsuccessful attempts (which I know is silly since its considered normal for a healthy hetero couple to take up to 12mths to concieve)!!

Joanna- I wish you all the best with the cyst, please let me know how it all goes. My Dr is also querying PCOS with me due to large amounts of cysts and irregular cycle but we are letting the idea rest for the moment as the last 4 cycles have been regular at 35days (besides my spotting 5-7 days before AF, which we are now looking into as possible low progesterone). Zillions of babydust coming your way!!! :":":":":":":

The loveof2mums- Yes I would definately include that as a success, you have experienced pregnancy and know it is possible! Thankyou for sharing your story, all the best...babydust for you both :":":":":":":

Shannon- Congrats on your lil girl, have any names picked out yet?? That is a great success story! As I am doing home insems I am relying on OPKs, maybe baby fertility scope and mucus...so knowing that you were right in your timing by such timing methods (rather than listening to the Dr, who one would assume would be right) you have given me faith that I am timing things right, thankyou!!! Congrats again, and I hope you have a wonderful pregnancy!!

stacey&amber- I love watching that lil ticker of yours go up and up in days (shame mine is not doing the same as we had very close cycles)!! Lets hope my luck is somewhat like yours and our third attempt takes!!! Once again CONGRATS, I wish you all the best Have a safe and happy pregnancy!!!!

Oh yeah-doctor's have a place in all this-but I just knew I was right about the timing...stick to what you know and feel is right-nobody knows your body like you do!

And I have decided on a name-but SO hates it...so we don't talk about it! Problem is-she can't give me options....she just doesn't like what I've chosen, so she is not making it easier on me! I'm going with Paisleyanne "Paisely" Michael (after my late father), so I told her to call the baby Mikey is she wanted to!

Again-lots of baby dust to you. I'm sure you will be wildly successful and have a happy healthy pregnancy and birth!!

Paisley is a gorgeous name, and as a bonus, its a name I have never heard of before!! I love names that are different, when my lil one comes along they will have a name very different also!!! All the best for the rest of your pregnancy and goodluck with the final outcome of her name!! lol. Make sure you post what you ended up calling her (after she has arrived) when you get a chance!!
Take care

theluvof2moms- Thats not a problem!Im glad it has lifted your spirits!! It was what I needed to here before I start this months insems (starting tomorrow evening woohoo)!! Its such a hard to explain dissapointing feeling when you wait out the tww, hoping for something extreme to happen, dreaming about the possibility of having life growing inside of you only to have it ripped from you when damn AF arrives!! Its one of the worst feelings I have ever experienced! So hearing others success stories kind of snaps you back to reality that it can happen and will happen if its meant to be!!!

Zillions of babydust your way, I'll keep you informed of how this mth goes!!! Lets hope this mth brings lots more beautiful rainbow babies to this world!!!

So how did the isems go? Do you feel like you had some good timing?

Since I have about another 20 days before I need my baby dust I'm gonna let you have it all this month! Here's to wishing you one lucky month!!!

What better month to get a BFP then in the month of LGBT Pride!!! WOOHOO!!!

Hi everyone, last night went fantastic!!! We got just over 2mls from our donor which is fab and we have been so relaxed about this month so things just seemed to go really well!! I got my positive OPK result today so thats great too! We started the day early because all my other signs had lined up (mucus being the main one I follow) and so we are going to go again tonight, tomorrow and then the day after...covering all bases!!!

theluvof2moms- 20 days!! Wow have a great, happy and healthy countdown!! I hope the days just fly by for you guys!!

Fingers crossed this is the one...DP seems to be certain it is just because of how things felt lastnight, but its way too soon (considering I havn't even ovulated yet haha) but it does feel right this month!! I think I'm not going to fuss about it as much this month (hopefully no testing during the tww, I'll just wait it out and see what happens)
