Default Anybody ever experience this...

A little one with a 'flu' that just won't go away? Basically it started over a week ago with Sebastien. He threw up then he was fine. Then Isabelle got it and threw up on Tuesday morning...then she was fine. I got sick and boy was I sick. Now Sebastien and I are fine but Isabelle isn't. She threw up Tuesday then was fine till Thursday when she threw up again then was fine for the weekend and threw up again on Monday and last night. She has no other symtoms, no diarrea, no fever and is perfectly fine afterwards. We haven't been giving her much to eat other than plain foods (bread, rice, pasta, veggies and fruit) and fluids. Yesterday she had 1/2 a cheese sandwich and then threw up after her nap. Today she was fine all day then she threw up before bed. She did have sheppard's pie for dinner which does have a bit of milk in it. So is her stomach just still sensitive or should I be worrying that it's something more serious? O.k. well I'm worrying but does anyone think it could be an allergy etc. coming to light??? Oh kids...they always keep you on your toes don't they?

BTW - so sorry I've been awol...hope all is well with everyone and welcome to all the new babies and best wishes to those expecting

Awww, I hope Isabelle is feeling better by now!

It's possible that it could be an allergy or sensitivity coming to light. But it also sounds similar to what happened to Christopher early this year. All four of us had terrible, terrible nausea, vomiting and diarrhea in late February. The worst of it lasted for a couple days, but none of us felt 100% for at least a week. Christopher, however, had it the worst. He had the initial day or two of vomiting, then a day off, then he started up again with the vomiting and I couldn't keep him hydrated (he WOULDN'T drink anything). On the advice of his pedi, he was admitted overnight to the hospital and seemed to be better, but then he would have episodes of breakthrough vomiting every now and then. This lasted a few days, but gradually became less and less with each day. It was exhausting, to say the least. His pediatrician did tell me that it was pretty common to happen though.

I'm hoping that Isabelle had nothing more serious than that! Update us if you can.

All is much better thanks. It went on for about another week and then she couldn't handle milk for another week or so. But she's fine now. Guess it was just a stubborn bug.
