Default Sharing My Little Success

After the frustration I was feeling last week I am now holding renewed hope. On Friday I used a massive bribe to get my DS to actually pee in the potty. I had purchased a Woody doll for an Easter gift but decided to wrap it up and use it as pee in the potty incentive. I placed the big colourful gift bag right beside the potty and told him that when a pee goes in the potty he could have it. I plied him with juice and after about 2 1/2 hours he actually peed in the potty- which is so huge considering he has been sitting on the potty for almost a year without even an accidental pee going in. He used the potty all day- but we put on a Pullup for naptime. He loved the present but more importantly he loved peeing in the potty!
By the end of the day he knew the difference between a tinkle and a real pee and he told me when he woke from his nap that he had peed on Buzz (the character on the Pullup he was wearing). Something clicked and though we're far from being fully trained we have finally taken a step in the right direction. I knew he'd "get it" once he let himself pee int he potty. I'm so happy!
He gets confused if he has underwear on and often can't get to the potty on time, but if I let him go bare bum he gets to the potty on time without fail. I'll take that for now. He can get used to the feeling of underwear later. I guess that will be step 2 on our journey.

ie

How old is your son? My son loves Toy Story, and I forgot about those Buzz pullups. Maybe I should go buy some now for the future so I have them!

DOH - never mind about my question. I had to make the connection between your other post and it just took me a while! My brain is OFF!
