I have a 27 month old that has shown no sign of wanting to pt for a long time. He would run crying if we asked him about using the potty or wearin underwear. So we just let it go. I didn't really feel that he was mature enough yet either. Now all of a sudden he wants to wear underwear, but about half the time he will go sit on the potty, the other half he runs & says NO! I am still not too sure that he is ready. With my older ds, he wasn't ready until he was about 30 months old & he was pt in about a day both pee pee & pooping & not one accident ever at nigh or nap time in the last year & a half. (he is 4 now.) I think part of the reason my first wasn't ready was b/c we just had my youngest right when he turned 2, so it took him a while to get all adapted to that.

So my question is, with my 27 month old, should I start hard core pt yet? We have a baby due October 20th. Or should I wait until after the baby comes? I am afraid that if I do get him potty trained that he will relapse after the baby is here. I have read alot about that, & that sometimes that can cause big problems with the potty training. Anyone have any advice? Thanks so much & sorry its so long!
