Icon5 Nighttime Potty Training Issue (long)

I don't know if any of you have ever experienced this but here goes...my daughter is turning 4 on August 18th - we finally got her potty trained over this summer. We tried when she was 2 1/2 - 3 years and she ended up regressing long story short (it's a control thing) - and I was so tired of changing clothes and doing laundry we figured she was not ready. Let me say, she is quite a smart kid and always understood that she should go to the potty but until SHE was READY to do it - she would not. So anyway now she is trained during the daytime.

What do I do about the nightime? She has been wearing pull ups to bed and she is still peeing in them - I don't know if she is doing it subconsiously or peeing as soon as she wakes up. Now, she is smart - and a bit lazy too (the has always been the problem) I think she wakes up and knows she has the pull up on and just pees in the pull up rather than getting up and using the bathroom. Get this, today she woke up and was in her bed talking etc - she finally comes out and tells me that "her bear would not let her go to the bathroom" and that she pooed in her pull up. I was 1st very angry that she was too lazy to get up and go herself and 2nd that she was blaming a stuffed animal for her accident. Is that crazy, I told her that this was unacceptable and that she should not be blaming anyone but herself for not getting to the bathroom. Let me also mention, that I have tried to get routine going with go to the bathroom before bed and first thing when you wake up before you leave the house etc - she will not always go unless she feels that she has to go at that moment - (she needs to be in control of going) I can't get it through to her that we want her to empty her bladder before she goes to sleep - I have told her everyone goes before bed and when they wake up - nothing works with her. It's always been a control thing with her - but I've always had to be on her all the time - because she would not go and then she would have accidents - which don't happen anymore but it's still all about control with her.

Anyway, so what I'm asking is, do you think I should get rid of the pull ups at night - then either it would force her to get up and go to the bathroom or I may have to be up during the night changing sheets - or my mother told me to make her sleep on the floor if she pees in her bed.

I really need some help with this, anyone else had these problems? Any help would be great.

Thanks.
