Hi all! I'm currently in the process of potty training my son! He is 20 months. It is quite tedious to say the least. However; I have done some research and found a few good products that have helped us out tremendously!

First, I bought him the Boon Potty Bench from Target (it was on sale!). It is lime green, which is his favorite color. (I think that helped some as too) It has two side compartments with lids for books, toilet paper, wipes, pull-ups, etc. When I first introduced him to it he loved to open the lid and sit on it fully dressed. The only downside was he always took the reservoir out and hid it around the house.

Then I bought him 2 potty training DVDs, ones Elmo the other is Bear in the Big Blue house, he isn’t one to really watch movies, but I thought I would give it a try since he likes commercials, the first time he watched them for maybe 2 minutes, but I still had them on while he was playing. The second time was about 5 minutes, and each time increased since then. Granite he still won’t watch the whole thing, but over half now! Wahoo!

I also bought him some potty books since he loves to ‘read’. I got a variety of different ones, different characters, realistic, cartoon. His favorite is Potty Time with Elmo, it has 7 different sounds on it and when I read it to him he really enjoys pushing the corresponding sound!

Since we started all of this he has made major progress! :} He still likes to “stinky” in his diaper but right after he runs to the potty! Good luck to all of you and your potty training endeavors!
