Well I can't remember if I've posted my dilemma to you girls here or not. Anyway, I have a 17-month old daughter, Taryn, who at 17 months is showing more interest in potty training than my son Alec, who is 2 yr 10 months old. We haven't been working with Taryn, but she's been exposed to enough of Alec's training, that she has shown an interest and has even "pee-pee'd" at least once a day successfully for about a 1-1/2 weeks now. We aren't working on it, but place her on it only when she requests to do so.

Alec on the other hand is being a total pill about potty training. He has no care if he is soaked to his ankles, it doesn't seem to be uncomfortable for him to be wet. He talks about it, but when it is showtime, he will fight, run away or immediately tell you he is done or says he doesn't have to go. We have made him sit there for awhile, and sometimes he goes, or he will be totally defiant and refuse. Then 5 minutes later, he has soaked his pants.

Well yesterday we had a bad development. Grandma took Alec to potty. He refused, but Taryn came in and tried to climb onto the potty and asked to go. Grandma put her up there, where she promptly went. Taryn got a treat for her good deed, which Alec didn't get since he refused to go (we've been trying the reward system, so we figure if she goes, she should get the same reward.) He promptly tried to push her down the stairs right after that because he didn't get the treat, but she did.

OK...how am I to handle this????
