Icon14 Tricare Information

I'm pretty upset that tricare doesn't cover any type of ART, but I was looking at the resolve website and saw there's a way we can help change that. I've posted the link below. Please check it out. The link gives information how to get our insurance to cover ART or at least some of it. I've already started contacting people.

Yes I agree tricare is a huge pain in the rear but, without it we would never have my darling lil man who is now 16 months old. How my reproductive endicrinologist got my fertility treatment covered was she coded it has treatment for polycystic ovarian syndrome which yes I do have the joy of having and a bicornate uterus to top it off. Anyways what she did was code it for pcos which paid for my fertility injections on both cycles it just didnt pay for iui so we would use the injections go in for ultra sounds and blood work then she told me when to use the trigger shot to trigger ovulation and then told us are best days to baby dance and my 2nd cycle after 16 months of ttc we were pg. my husband is in the airforce stationed at shaw airforce base in sumter, south carolina.

Hello,
First let me say your good woman to put up with military life! I am one of you too. My DH is USMC. Second tricare (humana) does cover injectibles, clomid, femera, and most any meds. They will not cover anything deamed "artificial conception" All injects are covered that is not artificial. What tricare makes you do though and alot do not know is, that when your RE calls in injects, tricare denies the claim at the pharmacy stating not covered. Then your RE has to resubmit the same prescription and then tricare will approve. Don't ask me why, I have argued this more than once but every time even after 5 cycles on follistim, ovidrel same routine each time. RE submits, tricare denies, RE submits tricare pays. I think it is done to make woman pay for the injects themselves (those who don't know) and it saves them money. When in fact ALL meds are covered in not in connection with artifical means of conception. Good luck if I can help with anything else, feel free to ask away. Semper Fi

I've been a AF dependent my whole life. First as a child under my father and for the past six year to my husband. I just found out a few months ago that Tricare no longer pays for any ulrasounds, unless there is a danger to mother or child. I'm sorry that is the biggest bull I've ever heard. HELLO ultrasound is not only used to determine the sex of the baby. Its used to make sure the baby is developing proper, If all the organs are there, If the placenta is low lying...If the amnio fliud is sufficiant... What if my baby has a heart defect and I need a cardiac docotor in the delivery room to save my baby's life. I HATE TRICARE. It's like every year they get shi@$&# and shi%$#. Whats up with that. It wasn't like this when I had my last child and that wasn't even 2 years ago. When you go up to the hospital Tricare is like a dirty word to the civilian side. There is something wrong with that don't you think. I live in AZ, my husband is stationed at LUKE. We no longer have a ER on base or a womens clinic. Hence why I had to go down town, pick and OB and find out how much the military's insurance is lothed. I was told that this no ultrasound bussiness was across the board. I'm begining to think that THAT is crap. What I think they meant is every base, post and station that no longer has a Womens clinic will be penalized. I have friends and family stationed all over. Seems the ones still being seen on military installations are still getting ultrasounds. Well atleast two. One to date the pregnancy in the begining and one at 20 weeks to make sure all is going well. I AM FURIOUS. Any one else mad about this and what should we do. It didn't use to be like this. The military and its benifits are not what they use to be. It's crazy. Sure send my husband to Iraq and Korea, but don't want to take care of his family. AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!
