Default Our Troops

My heart is broken over the loss of the 21 Marines in the past two days. They are all heroes. My son returns to Iraq in less than a month, as a Scout Sniper. My biggest fear is he will never know his little brother due in Oct.
For anyone whos family member is there or is returning- you are in my thoughts and prayers. Pray for our troops.

Default Re: Our Troops --Those left behind.

Another Marine died today, as well as 3 Soldiers. My son spent 7 mos. on the Syrian border as a mortarman, patrolling . His humvee was hit, his buddy died in his arms. My son is still not over nor will he ever be okay. He leaves in less than a month to patrol on foot in the town of Ramadi, where the Marine died today. It's like a searing pain through my heart to think of him there again. And now I worry about all his friends also, I dont think he can stand to lose anymore. I am so proud of all our Marines Soldiers Airmen and Seaman.
I guess this is really off topic. I was a Marine wife at one time and my son was born at Cherry Point MCAS one month after his dad came home from Iwakuni. BUT it was not war time. The wives are the unsung hereos, and I wish more than anything this was over so that no soldier had to miss the birth, first step, first day of school ect. for their child.

I was at Walter Reed the other day for my first RE appointment and DH and I were on the elevater when it came to a stop at another floor. When it opened this young man came on in a wheelchair with a girl. I don't know if she was his wife, sister, fiance or what. One leg was gone from thigh down and the other from the knee down. I wanted to cry. I saw DH looking at this soldier and I knew what he was thinking....it could have been him when he was over there at the beginning of this darn war. This young man was whistling and she reached over and ran her hand down the side of his face and rubbed the top of his head. I saw him grin and he started whistling again and then when the elevator stopped they both left the elevator. It was a humbling experience and I thanked God right then and there that my husband returned to me safe and sound and alive.

I pray for all the soldiers everyday over there and around the world.
