Default I need support

Hi ladies.
I am lurking from March 2007 group. My little baby boy who is one seems to have problem with cow milk. Runny mucusy poop. We switched to soy milk 4 days ago but runny poops keep coming. I am starting to think it's soy milk allergy also. Has anyone been dealing with this? I am really worried and stressed out.

Sorry to hear you're stressed. It is so hard to worry about our little ones.
Have you had your son tested for a milk allergy?
Oftentimes, kids who have a milk allergy do cross-react with soy (my son did).

If you haven't already, I would suggest taking him to see his pediatrician and a pediatric allergist. Also, possibly a pedi GI doctor. . .

My oldest was very mildly MSPI (milk/soy protein intolerance). We didn't really know (I had suspicions) till we tried whole milk and then tried soy milk. We had problems w/ both and ended up on rice milk which is basically nutritionally void. What was he on before he turned 1? Formula? BM? The reccomendation if he's having problems w/ these foods is to eliminate them completely (all forms of dairy and soy) to give his stomach time to mature and heal. My oldest was very milk and my yds was VERY severe and both outgrew these intolerances at the same time, 2.5yo. I'm expecting Ilana to be about then as well. She's on a special toddler formula that is completey dairy/soy free and will be till at least 2. How are his eating habits?

Last week we saw a GI and allergist. He is indeed allergic to both. We had done a skin test when he was 7 months old but it didn't show an allergy to milk or soy then but he had a reaction to chicken.
The GI put him on a special drink called Peptamen JR which is expensive. We are trying to get the insurance to pay for some of it. We have an appointment with a nutritionist next week. I am feeling better since he is feeling better.
He was exclusively breast fed the first year of his life. I pumped for the past 5 days and got enough milk to make it till the Peptamen arrived today. I have weaned him more than 10 days ago so my milk was almost dried up.
Thanks for the responds.
