Re: Anyone gluten free?
Hi Jennifer,
It's hard, I know. Is anyone in your family a celiac? I haven't put my boys on a GF diet yet, but I am GF. I'm not officially diagnosed a celiac, because I refuse to go back on gluten to get the biopsy done. My bloodwork came back extrememly positive.
It isn't easy, but it doesn't run my life, either. Tinkyada makes a great pasta - I don't even notice the difference. Prego traditional pasta sauce is GF. I find lots of snacks that I like... most all potato chips are fine (watch out for pringles, bugles and the cracker-type chips) and Walmart sells GF Pantry brownies and muffin mixes for about $3.00 where I live. The brownie mix is awesome. The muffin mix is okay. Also for breakfast, Fruity pebbles (original and berry flavor), Dora, NeoPets and there is a chocolate cereal that is GF, too. Be sure to watch out for anything that has "malt flavoring" - it is barley. Of course, you probably already know all of this, because when I first went GF, many people would give me advice over and over, but I had already read all of the same info on the internet. There may be a support group where you live, so definitely check it out. Feel free to PM me if you want more info or want to talk about it more in-depth. I'd be happy to help.
Good luck!
