Icon10 Did I tell you the details about the new house?

I am such a scatter brain these days that I'm thinking I haven't even told you all about the new house!

We are moving out of Tucson, about 25 miles north. :thumpsup It's a tiny town out in the middle of nowhere but that won't be for long. It's a master-planned community so there will be about 4000 homes there eventually. It's kinda like Anthem, only smaller, Marg and Schenley - in fact it is being built by Del Webb-Pulte too.

We have been looking for a bigger house for about a year now. And to tell you the truth the real-estate market in Tucson has just priced us right out of the city. So, we are moving out of the city! It's a brand new place and my lot (which is across the street from the school [K-8]) is still dirt. (as is the school ) We were able to buy a 3161 sqft house there. That is pretty much double what I live in now.

So my house is being put on the market and we have been working like maniacs to try to get half the stuff (read junk) out of this house so we can show it to people. I've already hired a woman to come and deep clean the house and then she'll come once a week thereafter until we sell. Although Art already thinks he has a buyer.

It's really pretty scary, but fun at the same time. I certainly won't miss living in Tucson at all. But I am very apprehensive about moving so far away from our church and preschool that we dearly love. Art doesn't mind the commute at all because pretty much what he does all day is drive from project to project so he's not concerned about a few more miles. I've got plenty of time to get used to the idea though as the house isn't scheduled to be finished until Jan-Feb 2008. I'm expecting it won't even be ready then.

I've picked out my carpet and tile and countertops, etc. This week I'm going to go order the window blinds and cellulars. It's a great house. Three bedrooms up and one down. (which is very much good for visiting grandparents) The play room is 30' x 17'. Avery and Lilly's room and closet are both bigger than what the master bedroom is in my current house. Finally I'll have enough room for all their toys and their obnoxious amount of clothing.

Anyone have any good advice about moving into a brand new home? I've never done that before. I have moved into new apartments before, but I imagine it's very much different to move into a house you are buying?!

Wish us luck as we go through months and months of nervewracking waiting!
