Transition to toddler bed...? (x-post)
Hi everybody, I'm new to the Toddler to Teen boards, and have a question for you BTDT moms. We're going to be buying our daughter a toddler bed for her 2nd birthday (in May) and I'm a little nervous about the transition. What are some things you did to help your little one adjust to the transition? I'd been thinking about setting up the toddler bed in her room along with the crib, and doing it slowly... let her sleep in the bed at night, and the crib at naptime, or something like that. Or would it be easier just to make a clean break? I like the idea of doing it gradually, as long as it doesn't take too many months. We're TTC #2 right now and will hopefully be needing the crib for the new baby this fall, so I want Jordan to be completely comfortable in her new bed long before then, so there will be fewer changes for her when she becomes a big sister. Mostly I don't want her thinking that the new baby "stole her bed". There's going to be enough things for her to adjust to without adding that on top of it, I want to make the transition from only child to older child as easy as possible, and this at least is the first step in that direction. Any help or advice about this would be very greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!
