Cookie, my aunt had the same problem, she had a hyperthyroid after giving birth to her fourth child. However, there is a difference between a woman that is hyperthyroid while pg, hyperthyroid after pg (both fairly common) and Graves' Disease. I think the fact that a woman can be hyperthyroid just because of how her body reacts to hCG and women that develope Graves' Disease is enough in itself to warrent testing for a thyroid problem for evey pg woman!
Sorca, you are probably right that it has to do with the insurance companies.

I do know that my insurance company isn't like that as they paid for Cian's px formula for over yr at $49.99/14ounce can. Plus my PCP doctor told me having a BCBS card was like having a gold card in the medical community, they are willing to pay for tests so that their members can have answers, management and/or cures.
Either way, I plan on finding out whether or not my OB's office tested my thyroid and if they did and didn't tell me something was wrong, there will be you know what to pay for it!
Yes, I am bitter, very bitter~ I am sorry to let it all out on you ladies...you have never done anything other than support me!
