This board is so slow and I am so keen to talk to others in the same boat as me.
I am on cycle day 13 and due to O in 5 days time, this is my last cycle before ttc a girl after four boys. I am taking supplements but find the diet too restricting so hope this is enough to tip the balance in favour of a girl. DH is wearing a jockstrap for 5 days this month to lower and we're having a 7 day cut off (I think!) next cycle.
I'm so excited to be ttc I love being pregnant and would love to be looking at pink baby clothes this time!

AF is due tomorrow and am hoping that it doesnt show up. I did a test today and got a BFN :-( . I have some symptoms but i think its all in my head. Did u test your ph level to see if it is in the girl territory? I wanted a 3 day cutoff and ended up having a 4 as I ovulated one day late. I try to avoid the girl racks in the stores as the little dresses are so cute. Hope we both get our little girls.

Four day cut off sounds like girl territory to me!!
I haven't done any PH testing and don't plan to either but the fact that 4 days away from O sounds like a good way to go!
I do hope you get your BFP in the next couple of days. How's your temp chart looking? Is it still staying higher than the beginning of your cycle?
Did you do diet or supplements for girl? Did your other half wear tight pants leading up to bd?

Just read some of your other posts and it looks like you're doing everything possible to get your girl.
I hope you get a soon and if you do I bet it's a girl after reading your posts!

It's scary and I hate the waiting it's so hard when you've planned everything (I am not the most patient of people either!)
It's great reading success stories, just seems unreal when it comes down to you!!
Good luck, don't take too many pregnancy tests (they cost a fortune!)

I was such a great believer of shettles until I read abt some women having boys after having a 4-5 day cutoff. I also read somewhere that the Ys cannot swim if cm ph is less than 5 (which is what cranberry does) and thats what I was aiming for. Taking girl supplements, reducing Ys from frequent bedding and having a cutoff all favours girls but lets c what happens.

No sign of AF as yet but since I ovulated 1 day late, I am thinking that I will get AF one day late too. I am not going to test until the 16th now as I dont wanna waste any more tests.

When is your first attempt?

I am on cycle day 15 of a 34 (very long) day cycle. I am due to O on 18th April but this is last cycle before our attempt (scary!!)
I have IUD but unsure when to have it removed as don't want to be confused with cm/af mid cycle. I have only plotted 2 cycles previous to this current cycle, so it's only my third one I have studied. Also don't want a bfp when unplanned cos could be another boy.
So in answer to your question I plan to try from next month and should O on 21st May with last try for BD on 15th which is a 5 day cut off.
Don't know if this is a long enough cut off?? With four boys already my book says to start at 7 day cut off??
It's all so confusing!! Someone said to drink lemon tea for a girl so will give that a try too!
Think I'm gonna start spitting vinegar soon!!

AF showed up today so I am out for this month :-( Good thing I decided to wait till the 16th to test again. I think a 5 day cutoff for you seems like a good idea. I dont think that the sperm can survive for up to 7 days..what to u think? do you remember when you conceived your sons? Was it on ovulation day.? I know my son was conceived on ovulation day so the shettles theory does make sense to me.

Oh no, gutted for you. it must be horrible when you've tried so hard to get it right.

In the book I've got from Hazel Chesterman-Philips it says to creep up nearer to O by one day every 2 months, giving the timimg method a good chance to work.

Maybe next month will be THE month for both of us!!

How weird will that be?? It would be great to be pregnant at the same time, we could moan about morning sickness together!!

My sons were conceived without a temp chart in sight but I believe that sex drive increases nearer to O so I've put it down to that.
I tell you something though, I'm obsessed with all this planning and dreaming and even praying (I'm not a religious person) but it's taking over my life!

Hi, I am new to this post, I am also trying to get pregnant again after having a M/C 2/18/08. I am trying for a girl as well since I have 2 boys. I am charting my cycle, doing BBT, and using the clear blue easy fertility monitor. I have read your threads & u mention cranberry? Does this help with something. I read Dr Shettles book. I got peak fertility today on my monitor. Which means it detected LH surge at 4am this morning. Not sure when I O from there though. I had mittlesch-pinching cramps yesterday & today and my temp went up this am too . Last time my husband & I BD was last Sat about 10pm. I hope that wasn't to long ago. How long can sperm live anyway? I hope it is all good since this is 3 days from then 4 tomarrow. I appreciate any suggestions or advice. Thank you and I wish you all the best as well.

Sounds like you ovulate today/tomorrow depending on whether your temp stays up tomorrow. If so then sounds just right for a girl (as long as your OH's sperm count is not too high)
Sending will power for your 2ww!!
Cranberry is supposed to make your body more acidic (better enviroment for girl sperm to live in) Start taking it before you ttc.
So sorry about your m/c in Feb hope you're feeling ok.

Thank you for you kind words, I appreciate it very much. I healed physically very well. I am sad that it happened but know it must have been for a reason. I just pray next pregnancy be a healthy one. My temp dropped monday am to 96.12 then yesterday increased to 97.4 and this am it was 97.77. So how do I know which day I O on. I had another peak day on my monitor this am but still haven't BD since Saturday night late. Am I still in the possible Fertile zone for girl. I hope I O yesterday since that is closer to my BD day. I dont know how long those little boogers live. If it doesn't happen this month will try for next month and do the cranberries. Best wishes to you. BeckyAnn

I totally understand the feeling of loss as I had m/c at 20 wks 9 years ago with my first baby will never forget him (another boy!)

I plot my cycles on fertility friend.com it's great as it shows O day according to temp and cm. If you have a chart that you have been doing you can put it in and see what it says for you. Without seeing whole chart it's hard to guess whats happening. (fertility friend is free to join and you get 31 days free vip trial too)

What is your cm doing right now? The closer to O you should see ewcm (egg white cervical mucus) then clear and stretchy, as soon as you O it turns to creamy acid cm. (sorry to be so graphic!!) Does this give you a better clue as to when you O??

I think sperm generally live for 5 days but have heard of women who have boys already getting pregnant with a girl up to 7 days before O. x

Hi BeckyAnn and welcome. I am so sorry to hear abt your miscarriage ((Hugs)). I hope you will get a BFP soon. I was a bit upset when AF showed up but atleast I can give a better try next time. I think I will give TTC a break for abt 3 months as I want to try when its a new moon and that will be July, August and September. I heard that more girls are conceived during the new moon phase. I am the sort of person who would try to do everything possible to make the most perfect attempt so I am doing everything possible to get the girl I want...including diet, timing, ions, my cm ph, DH semen ph, moon sign, moon phase etc. Anything to increase the odds..that way I wont have any regrets if I get another boy. Atleast I would know that I tried my best.

Hey Sparkle76 & SandyCanada, I really appreciate both your support. I am glad I came across the website. It is nice talking to someone who knows what I am going through. I had my second peak day today and my temp went up a little more from monday and tuesday. My CM turned a bit tachy-pasty today on day 14 so I hope that means I O yesterday which would have been 3 days since last bd. I have a 27 day cycle. my cm was ewcm fri-yesterday. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for us all. I know what you mean about looking at all the pretty baby girls at the store. I want one so bad I even dream about it. I agree! It's great to be in touch with people in the same /similar situation, I don't feel so isolated (my OH thinks I'm obsessed but does want to give it all a try,I'm not bullying him into it!!)

It can start to take over so I think a break from it all can be a good thing SandyCanada!
