Icon5 saliva tests

Has anyone ever used the saliva tests for ovulation. Do they work any insights?

I bought a saliva monitor, but never quite got the ferning quality that they say you should get when you use it. Maybe I didn't O, who knows. I invested my money in a Fertility Monitor. No guessing at the lines (like on an OPK), and it tells you the exact day you are ovulating.

I got one, but it seemed like I was always getting the same result, ferning around the edge. That is what they say you are supposed to get if you are about to ovulate. I got it all the time during my cycle, even when my fertility monitor said that I was ovulating I was still getting the ferning around the edge. So I stopped using it. They are fun to play with though!

I have one. I've had it since ttc#2, so it's been over 2 years. I used to always get the partial ferning, and it was so frustrating. But then I found out I wasn't ovulating, so that made sense. Now, as we are ttc again, I am using it again. Some cycles I only get partial ferning. But I have gotten full ferning a few times now.

One trick I have found is that you clean the lens with alcohol the night before, and then when you test, to not put a lot of saliva on it. Just use enough to see that it is wet. If you get too much, it wil get bubbles in it and it makes it hard to read. Also, you get debris (food particles, plaque, etc.) in it as well.

Good luck!
