Default Quick Question...

I wish I would have come on this site sooner, I am the proud Mama of 5 boys, I would love to have my girl, but I need some help in that department as you can see. I am not an expert in the O dept..But how does all of this work? Do I have to buy an O kit? TIA

Welcome! I am pretty new here too and I'm excited to try for a girl as well!Yup, you are probably going to have to buy an ovulation predictor kit of you really want to pinpoint when you ovulate. My SIL used the ones from the drugstore where you just pee on a stick. I used the clearblue fertility monitor which is much more expensive, but I LOVE IT!!! I bought mine off e-bay for a fraction of the retail price.

Basically, you can change your diet a little and take some supplements to make the vaginal environment more "girl friendly". Apparently cutting down on salty foods and caffeine are two big things for a girl. Also (most importantly) do not have sex closer than 2 days before you ovulate. The girl sperm are slower swimmers and they live longer. That's my plan when we start in May.

I'm glad someone else will be checking in here too. This board is usually slow!
P.S.- Your boys are beautiful!

your house is getting over run with testosterone eh I am also trying for a girl this time around. I have not bought a monitor or opk test strips, I am temping to judge o time. I know that I am fairly regular with when I O so I am going to BD for a couple days and then stop 2 days before O. If you do not know when you O at all or if your O day is never regular I would get some OPK test strips to help pinpoint which day you O so you can time things. If you are not looking to ttc for a couple months yet, you could temp for 2-3 months to get a feel of your bodiy's cycle and O time and then time things the month you start ttc on those charts. kwim

New to this site. As well I am trying for a girl this month. I am doing the following:

Calicuim, magnesium, cranberry supp., prenatal vitamins and going to take sudafed day a period until I O.

I also a temping am and evening. To see the difference and help with Oing.
I also am using the Ovulation kit.

I heard that you should bd up to day 12 and then wait until you O and wait 8-12 hrs and bd again.

Let me know if you have any others ideas.
