Default Hello + a question (x-posted)

Hi all,
I wanted to see if any of you could help me - We were trying for a girl back in May and used the whole gender selection time of bd'ing thing from a online calendar.
Sadly we lost the baby just last week. We are very sad about it but at the same time I'm trying to be positive & focus on trying again (I usually post on ttc after loss). Half of me feels bad for being "picky" after what has happened but we would both love a girl & would be thrilled with one of each.

I have bought opk's for this month's cycle. I've never used them before but now I'm so confused as I don't see how I can marry the 2 methods. according to the gender calendar for example May it was

30 May - do NOT BD
31 May - BD
1 June - BD (Fertile days start)
2 June - do NOT BD (More Fertile)
3 June - do NOT BD (Even more Fertile)
4 June - do NOT BD (Ovulation)
5 June - do NOT BD (Still Fertile)

BUT if opk's show a positive 12-36 hours before ovulation this means I'd be bd'ing on the "wrong" days, wouldn't it?

Don't get me wrong, if I had a healthy pregnancy & out came a boy I would be happy too but our original plan was to do the whole "trying for a girl" thing & DH wants to stick with that. I'm more concerned with getting pg asap, but if we could have both it would be great

Any thoughts, ideas etc...

Of course of this gender stuff could be a load of hooey

It looks like that chart you posted is based on the Jonas method. There are certain days you should to conceive your girl, much like the Lunar theory (you can read all about the different types of theories on the Tips/Links thread at the top of the board). The closer you get to ovulation, at least according to Shettles, you are at an "increased" risk of having a boy. But I have known plenty of women to on O day, and get a girl! I think it's all 50/50 anyway. I just pray a lot these days!
