Default Hello ladies, new here. Need a reminder...OPK 101 class question...

if it's Gods will we will be ttcing soon and would like trying for a another boy, can't remember last time and didn't feel like reading the book again, so I thought you all could help. TTC a boy takes just the right timing I've read and remember.

Okay, I'm using OPK's and starting on cd14 with the faint lines leading up to the darkest on cd16 @ 1:00 PM (also had really bad O pain) so this means that I will O? when... there are so many different hour variations I know but generally it's what?

...12-24 hrs.
...24-36 hrs.

I know the + OPK is the surge but that doesn't mean you O'd that day..

Also, when TTCing for a boy you want the egg waiting for the sperm, right? Because those girl sperm with out live the boys and will wait for that egg.

Thanks so much for the refresher information.

Thanks for reading my post.

DeAnne

I remember when we got PG with our Son i used OPKs. I tested in the evenigns, around 6 or so, and the line was super dark. The night before it was ok, not as dark. That night, when the line was really dark we BD and also the following day. I did experince pain in one of my ovary. We did use the doggy style position. We weren't trying for a boy or a girl, we just wanted to get PG, but i do remember reading somewhere that the doggy style is good for if you are trying to conceive a boy!

Well, with an opk, most people will ovulate 12-48 hours after the LH surge is detected, most common is 36 hours after the actual surge.

You should test between 2-8pm for the most accurate results.

The fast/die soon boy sperm and slow/live long girl sperm theory has been scientifically disproven. The fast/die soon sperm were the fully mature sperm, and the slow/live long sperm were immature sperm. The gender was 50/50 for each kind of sperm observed. You can visit http://www.in-gender.com/cs/blogs/Ge...1/13/5342.aspx for info about that. So timing for gender doesn't really work.

The popular theory going on now is the acidity/alkalinity of the vaginal track. For a girl, you want acidic, for a boy, you want alkaline. It is done with douches, diet, or supplements. I subscribe to a website that is all about gender. It is ttcaspecificgender.com

Anyway, I hope you will be able to start TTC soon and get a wonderful little boy! Good luck, and have fun!
