This is a discussion on Patty (2moms2b) within the Parents of Multiples forums, part of the Age and Experience category; I noticed in your siggy that you only transferd one blast. Do you remember what odds your RE gave you ...

Default Patty (2moms2b)

I noticed in your siggy that you only transferd one blast. Do you remember what odds your RE gave you on getting pregnant with one blast?

I'm asking because I'm gearing up to transfer one blast and I'm scared it won't work. But, I'm more scared of having twins again because I went so early.

Just looking for reassurance...sigh.

PS -I love your baby girls' expressions in your siggy. They always make me smile.

I'm butting in here but just wanted to let you know that I'm going back in July for another IVF round and he said that with the frozen cycle - your odds of 1 taking are %15. I'm willing to take those chances so I don't get preggo with twins again. Plus, I got preggo my first round last time so I'm pretty confident it will work this time around with just 1 since both stuck last time.
How many frozen ones do you have?

Micki- butt in any time you want!

I dont even remember if he gave me any odds...I was so disappointed that we only had one left to transfer

I do remember one of the nurses saying to me "We have another patient that transfered just one and she is getting ready to deliver" That did not help at all. I was convinced it would not work and I had NONE to try with left.

I sure hope it works for you. KUP!!!

Where are you in the process?

Thanks you two! You know I love input Micki - butt in anytime!!!

I am actually doing a fresh cycle. I have to have a water HSG to make sure I don't have any scarring on my uterus from my c-section. We are shooting for an August cycle.

With my fresh cycle, he said he'd give me 65% odds.

Those are some pretty good odds.

I think Julie wants one more. But I am hesitant to even think about it! It was so hard getting these two and I DONT want TWO more!

I just had a saline u/s. Just make sure you take a couple of Advil before hand because you'll have some cramping afterwards.
The fresh cycle rates for pregnancy are much higher - 45% for 1 transfer, 75% for 2.

It is scary Patty, especially since your one spilt into TWO, so you know it can happen very easily. This might be a too personal question, would Julie try for the next one or would you carry the baby if you guys tried again? We have good friends who did IUIs with donor sperm. They wanted to increase their odds and each of them got inseminated and both got pregnant. They both had little girls, so we've decided that Brennan (my son) will have two girls to pick from when they get older for his future wife.

Thanks Micki. I'm a little nervous about the HSG. I cramp really easily - sometimes if a speculum is too cold I cramp. Ugh. My RE is going to give me a happy pill to take the edge off!

Too funny!!!

It would be ME!!! Julie has absolutely NO DESIRE to carry a child. I tried REALLY hard to get her to the drugs to lactate and she just laughed at me.... Would have been nice to have another pair of boobs in the house.
