I remember at Carrie and Christian's one year well check up the doctor said for me to cut back to 16 ounces a day (which blew me away since I was giving them 32oz). Today they get about two sippy cups a day of milk along with juice and water. Should I be giving them more??

My kids, all of them drink about 1 pint of milk a day, each.
The babies get it on cereal and about 3 sippy's a day. They also eat lots of yoghurts and fromage frais.

At their 2 year check up their ped suggested 16 ounces still (I think - why does it seem like ages ago?) Anyway, I still give them whole because they're pretty thin and eat really healthy. Their cholesterol was checked and if it would have been high she would have wanted them on 2%.

I still use whole milk too, all the kids drink it. But like Micki's my kids are all really thin and eat tons of fruits, veggies, low fat foods.

Mine drink 1% milk. They all 3 drink about 4 sippy cups a milk per day. they drink so much milk!

I think from a year on they actually recommend 16-20oz. But remember, that includes cheese, yogurt etc. Remember they should be EATING more and not drinking it.
