Our trip has been postponed until the middle of March. But, I think we'll still be flying before you, Kathy. So, I'll report back next month in a new thread. Now I've got plenty of time to hunt down little dollar toys and gadgets for on-the-plane surprises.

I would take car seats just in case there are extra seats. If there are, the airline will let you use them free of charge. Car seats are SO much easier when flying! We are flying with all 3 boys and will be using car seats with all of them.

Ok, now a question of the Pack N Plays... do we bring and check them for our trip? The hotel we are staying at for the first leg of our trip only allows ONE crib per room (hello!) so I may need to call them anyway to ask if we can have and reserve 2 of their cribs?

I just don't want to haul MORE stuff than necessary!

We use the Kidco Peapod travel beds now instead of pack n plays. I bought them from THIS store off ebay for $70 w/ free shipping and we have definitely got our moneys worth already. Plus, they should last us until the girls are 5 or so. Anyway, I'll be taking them as carry ons if they won't fit in the suitcase. Very light. I'd avoid taking a PNP if you can. So heavy and bulky with everything else you will need to keep up with.
