Icon5 Did you have HCG/beta counts??

Hi all. I'm Laura, and I'm a bit more than 5 weeks pregnant. I was wondering if any of you had blood drawn to check you beta/HCG level in early pregnancy, and if so... do you remember your numbers? The reason I'm asking is that my numbers seem very high to me, and am wondering if I might be preggers with twinsies. At 9dpo beta was 24.5, then at 14dpo it was 553!
What do you think? seem high? was yours high with twins? or not much different than singletons?

Hi!!!
There is a chart on line somewhere to sort of guide you. I did get my Hcg levels checked and they sky rocketed. I kept a log since I got them checked a few times and looked up my numbers online and they were definitely under the "possible multiples" column! When I called to get my last set of numbers, the nurse asked me if could come in for an ultrasound (they knew). We got the fabulous news at 6 weeks!

Keep us posted on what you find out.

I didn't get my betas with my twin pregnancy. But when I did get them done with my singleton PG, we were afraid it would be twins again, they were definitely high, but only one baby. Good luck with your PG!

I had mine done but I don't remember at all what they were. The doc just said that they were so high he was thinking it was AT LEAST twins. Um, WHAT?!

your siggy too! Who did it for you?

My siggy was done by Carrin at Sweet Memory Graphics. She does awesome work!!
My doc didn't say anything about mine being high (I just got the #s from a nurse over the phone), but I've been checking out charts with average ranges for singlets and twins, and it's high even for the twins. But, it also says you have a single with high #s or multiples with low #s, so i guess I'll just have to wait and see...

Hi Laura, I had mine done several times as I did IVF with my babies. My numbers were a little high but nothing too alarming. At first we thought it was a singleton but at my 7w u/s we saw 2 sacs. I think at 9days post transfer my beta was 270 (I could be wrong) anyway if doing IVF has taught me anything is that sometimes beta numbers don't mean that much, high numbers could be multiples or it could just be a very strong bean getting comfy in there. I hope it works out for the best for you and you get what you want, Let us know when you find out.
