Ha! Then I made him stand 25 minutes longer in the corner!
So he's been very bad lately and we've started cracking down and following thru more often than giving in. This has caused complete chaos and confusion for my children. I feel for them and almost want to give in but that would completely blow the whole point.
Anyhow... Lucas got told to go to his room and he said "Good, I like my room. I wish you would send me here all day long" with the dirtiest, meanest face that he could muster up. He then turned around and shut his door.
I called him out immediately and thanked him for telling me that he liked his room so much. I then told him he had to stand in the corner for 15 minutes (I haven't a clue what's decent amount of time and what is cruel). He then said "cool, I like the corner too". "Okay Lucas" I said, "You can spend another 5 minutes in the corner then". Lucas retorted "Good, I like it". I then delt him out yet another 5. He was very quiet after that.
I tell you, the kid did a awful good job at pretending liking the corner the whole time he was there
