Working the system!
I got this idea last weekend, but I have been so busy traveling and with work that I never got a chance to call my insurance and see if it would work. My doc wants me to get 3 vials of 450IU gonal-f. The cash price for that is $1075, and my insurance has a negotiated price of $1600 (I always thought insurance was a lower price, not higher!). I have 50% coverage for the meds. So I called my insurance and asked if I was willing to pay the cash price up front, then could I file a claim for 50% reimbursement of the cash price. They said yes! So we will be able to do 3 cycles for what I expected to pay for 2!
I'm going to start provera this Thursday, and I should be getting AF the week of 6/9-6/13. 6/13/08 is my 5th wedding anniversary. My EDD for this next cycle is mid March. DH said if we have a St. Patrick's day baby we have to name it Seamus Patrick. Sounds good to me!
My claims from the RE's office are still being processed incorrectly. I have someone from HR working on it now, she's got a direct line to someone high up in my insurance company. Supposedly I should hear from an analyst by the end of the week about exactly what is being covered and at how much.
