What a relief!
I just got off the phone with my insurance company and am so excited! When I first started 3 years ago I was told I was allowed 3 IUI's and 3 IVF's in my lifetime. Well, last week was my 3rd IUI and I was nervous that I would have to go forward with IVF, or pay out of pocket for the entire IUI (injections, u/s and b/w, IUI). I'm really not ready to move ahead with IVF yet - since my first IUI worked for DD and I'm only on my 2nd for baby #2.
Now I'm told that there is no set number, that I just have $20,000 total for infertility! Meaning I can keep doing IUI's until I feel like we need to make a change.
Although I'm really praying that I get a BFP this month and don't need to worry about any of this anymore.....

Re: What a relief!
Yay, Denise!!!!!! I'm soooooo happy with the good news. So nice to know you're not forced into anything more drastic unless you actually NEED it! I need to find out more about my insurance covering IUIs and such, but I too, am hoping I can do what I did to get preggers with ds....and for us that was just meds.
Are you still in the running this month?

Re: What a relief!
Yes - I'll know next week if IUI #3 was successful. I was so nervous that I would need to do IVF earlier than I felt I needed to based on money.
I know I am VERY lucky with my insurance coverage. It's actually a big reason why I'm still at this job and commuting 90 minutes each way. After DD I thought about getting a job closer to home, but we knew that I would need help TTC #2 and the benefits were a big incentive to stay (plus I like my current job - just not the commute!).

Re: What a relief!
That's wonderful news Denise. We get $5000! What insurance do you have?
Either way, let's just hope #3 is it and you can stop there with the IUIs! GOOD LUCK!

Re: What a relief!
Kristie - we have Cigna, but my company really uses our benefits as a selling point to new employees. I don't pay anything for insurance (just co-pays). DH and Amy are covered for free too. It's great not having $$ taken out of my check every week for benefits.

Re: What a relief!
Denise, that is great news. It is good to know you wouldn't be forced into IVF if you weren't ready for that. Hopefully you won't even need another IUI for baby #2 but it nice to know your options.
It's funny because I also have Cigna and was wondering what they would cover as far as IUI and IVF is concerned. I know our plans wouldn't be the same but it's nice to read this because it gives me some hope too. with this cycle.

Re: What a relief!
Not having to worry about that has to be a relief in itself. When you're TTC or PG, stress can affect so many things, so maybe with this weight off of your shoulders, your luck will turn for the better.
In my thoughts and prayers!
