Upadte from Yesterday's Dr. Appt

Hi Ladies

I hope all is well with everyone ?

Well Yesterday I had my first Appt with my new specalist . She is wonderful.
So we only spent about 20 minutes with her cause My family Dr. did all the necessary Tests. which was nice. So she explained to us all the procedures they have and what we can do.

In July ( and I'm so excited) we get to start our Frist IUI. Just my luck yesterday I started AF. Silly af 3 days early LOL. WE could of started this month but she had to get us tested for HIV and Hepitis before the can handle the Sperm. So In July we will be doing IUI with Sperm wash. A natural cycle. to see If I'm ovulating ok . So I wont be taking any meds that cycle maybe on the HCG. So will have to see when I go for blood work and the ultrasound. I'm so happy but also scared cause this procedure is not cheep here in Toronto.

When I saw the prices I almost fainited. There is a one time admin fee of $250 canadian and then The Sperm wash is $350 each time. So If they have to Do it to time in a cycle that is going to cost me $ 700 and man I don't know where were going to get this money from. I guess I have to start being cheep and Stop Shopping and Cut down on a lot of things. Wow this is going to be fun. The only part I'm not looking forward to Is the needles and the blood work. I have very small veins so they can never find them in my Arm so they always have to take blood from my hands and they brusie for days and hurt.

so that's my update from yesterday..

Carmen - I'm glad you have your game plan and hopefully IUI will be successful for you. It is amazing how much these procedures cost but I hope you find a way to make ends meet. Good luck and I will be praying for a

We didn't realize that it was going to cost so much so. we will be penny pinching for the next little while.

I'm so hoping that it's going to worth it and that it works.

I know - it amazes me, too! And trust me, I know about expensive . . . this little one cost us a fortune!

I know. It's so fun watching your progress. This is so exciting. yeah I hope we only have to do 1 iui. that will cost us $700 cause I think if there is more money involved I'm not sure how many IUI we will be able to do.

You may only need 1 sample for IUI, so hang in there!

- I was having major contact issues this morning and it's like "gee could have had my lasik for what we've spent TTC" grrrr........

!!! I'm hoping we have a BFP for DH's b-day (july too)

Maybe first time will be all you need!

Carmen, too exciting! I can't wait to hear all about your IUI journey! I know you'll have to sacrifice some things in order to get the procedure done, but it'll be worth it in the end. I'm so proud of you for taking the initiative to get the ball rolling on this! Good luck girlie and keep us updated!

TKeys the nurse they may need more then one sample for Dh and thats what cost to wash the sperm $350 each shot. I was floored.
