TMI question ...
Okay sorry, this is probs TMI but ....
Does anyone have a problem with leakage? I'm wondering b/c I find it hard, even with my bum on a pillow, legs elevated, etc. not to have it. Does anyone else have this problem? Is there something to fix it? And if you do have this problem - is it just the "junk" and the spermies stay in? Thanks ladies!!

Re: TMI question ...
I have the same problem, and I"m convinced even if I hung upside down from the ceiling I would still have this problem. I'm assuming that the "good stuff" or at least as much that is supposed to be in there makes it in! I know DH is concerned with the "leakage". He always tells me he deposited it, so don't waste.

Re: TMI question ...
I have heard of some ladies putting in a Instead right after to keep all the "goodies" right by your cervix so they have to travle up and not out.

Re: TMI question ...
Yeah, I have the same thing....I try to keep it all in for about 30 min (I've been told that your chances are improved if you lay with your hips elevated for 20-30 min.) After the 30 min I relax and some of it does come out even without getting up or moving around, but thats only the semen, the sperm should have already swam up in search of the egg. I don't know of any way to keep it in better, other than keeping your hips elevated and laying still.. oh, and also try to keep from tensing up your muscles down there...it seems that causes it to come out quicker.

This may be a silly question, but what is an Instead?

Re: TMI question ...
I have that happen to me too...but I don't think it's really a problem...I think there is so much force when they come out, that most of the spermies are already on their way to the egg, and most of the stuff that leaks out is just the leftover stuff...but I am definitely no expert on this..hence the very scientific answer..lol!!

Re: TMI question ...
Hi Ladies. Maria. Thank you for Asking this question I have had the same problem but have been to shy to post asking why does this happen.. I don't let DH Finsh when he is on Top Sorry TMI info but I find it helps we usully finish up with rear entry I find I don't lose anything like that. The only way I lose anything is if I stay on my stomach to long and then it all ends up in the front,. So that's when I put the pillow under the hips and keep my legs up for a bit right after Dh is Done. sorry agian TMI..
Hope this helps
Sorry for being Graphic )

Re: TMI question ...
Yeah - I always had a lot of leakage and worried about the same thing. Some women swear by using the menstrual cups - one brand is Instead. It is basically a cup you insert, and it will allow the ejaculate to be held in the cup not too far from your cervix, so, if there are any swimmers in there that are still moving, they have a longer time frame to try and swim through the cervix.
I've heard that the swimmers get in there immediately, and I've heard that it takes 20-30 minutes for the ejaculate to liquefy before the sperm can swim through your cervix, and I'm not sure what the truth is.

Re: TMI question ...
I think most all women have this problem and from what I've read and been told DO NOT WORRY ABOUT IT! Even if you have leakage there was enough deposited where it needs to be to do the job. The part that comes out wouldn't have a chance anyways...just the that are at the front and get to the cervix first. All the leftovers don't really make a difference. I've even read mixed reviews about the whole propping your hips up thing too...I used to do it but not anymore cause I've read a lot about that not really making a difference...I do try to lay still for 10 or 15 min afterwards just in case though.

Re: TMI question ...
Yeah, I've read of issues with propping up too - something about all the swimmers pooling up behind the cervix ....

Re: TMI question ...
I've tried everything short of a hand stand to keep the semen inside! I've used the Instead Cups, they are still under my cabinet collecting dust. I must warn you though Amy, the first time you use it you might have some trouble getting it out. I couldn't reach the darn thing, I had to sit on the toilet and dig it out.

Re: TMI question ...
I prop my behind up on a pillow and stay in bed for at least 45 minutes afterwards. I've even lifted my legs over my head and rested them on the headboard. Kinda extreme I know but I got my daughter Ava for all my extra "efforts" And yeah some stuff can spill out afterwards but not too long back someone said that the spermies are what stay in to swim to the egg and it's the pre-cum that comes back out. SO I think we're good.

Re: TMI question ...
OMG LOL,,,,, TTC#1, do you remember WAAAY Back when when I posted about using the Instead Cups??? Mine are collecting dust too. I COULD NOT get it out the first time I used it, I was almost panicked and thought, I'm going to have to have DH Dig this thing out! I eventually had to push it in farther (Scary!) to get it dislodged from behind my hip bone, they I got a better grip on it and could pull it out. The second and third time were not much better, at one point I thought, well, TTC is out for this month, cause I can't get the darned thing out and my hand doesn't bend that way! LOL.... So, while I think it helps to keep the "stuff" in, good luck getting it out!

Yep, there's leakage here too! The time I got pg, we weren't trying and I was on top (TMI). I know I dripped but I guess it didn't have much of an effect!!

I think I remember both of your posts . . . I had been thinking about buying them for us, and then I waited (and then everything started going wrong with our TTC journey).
